Rudy = Done!

I wish you guys were right. But.... he's not done until he loses Florida. He is still tied for 1st place there. The media will now snub McCain, and pimp Giuliani for his comeback kid win.

You have got to be kidding :D:D:D:D:D

Those were her exact words.

Laura Schwartz, "Former Special Assistant to President Clinton" (ie. cigar girl)...

She said Rudy did well because McCain didn't win.

Erh, my meetup is expecting Giuliani to win florida. :( We're doing our best to get some precincts and congressional districts in Central FL for Paul so he can at least walk away with a few delegates.
Eh...
Isn't Florida a "winner take all the delegates" state? I read about that being Rudolph Giuliani's rationale for going all in there. It makes sense in theory. If you look like a winner in Florida early on, that will deter all competitors.

However, as much as I dislike Rudy, it might be good for Ron Pauls chances if he wins Florida since there four different candidates will have won one state each (five with Ron Paul winning Nevada!) Being four place in such a field is not bad.

I get that some people want to keep the field open for as long as possible, but at some point it's going to have to narrow for us to have a chance at defining the differences. Giuliani being the first to go would be wonderful.

Paul and 5 candidates agreeing on most everything=Paul being on the fringe.
Paul and 2 other candidates=wow, that Paul guy has some great credentials. Maybe I should look into him some more.

Remember brother Bush is the boss of FL which is the Diebold capital of the world.

Huh? This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. First of all, Jeb is no boss here, second, Jeb is longer Governor here, third Diebold capital of the world? Dude what the hell are you smoking????????

As for Rudy, he is not out yet, believe me. Of the 12 million he had left in his bank roll, he is spending 7 million of it here in this state. More then half of what he has. Florida has alot of delegates, however the RNC in their infinite wisdom stripped Florida of half of its delegates. Unfortunately, I would bank when it comes time, this state will probably go to McCain, sadly enough. I think RP will place second.

Rudy got spanked tonight in Michigan. I think Thompson will drop out, but Rudy will continue. Dont count him out till after super Tuesday at least. I know he is suffering, since his staff is working for free. Funny thng is, isnt that what alot/most of those supporting RP are doing? Isnt that what grass roots is all about?

Anyways, in the next 48 hours, I think it will be only Huckabee, Romney, McCain, Paul and Guiliani. My prediction...

Does that mean Uncommitted still has a chance too? Uncommitted came just behind St. Rudy of 9/11.

Seriously when Uncommitted almost beats you, I don't care what state you hope to win it is just plain pathetic. Florida is a winner take all state, but since they only give 57 delegates since it is before May, 5th. Even if he wins here, Florida, he lost too big before to really be taken seriously.

Plus he is not guaranteed a win here in Florida. A month ago it is all you would hear is how great he is, every loss seems to be changing that tune. Now you hear more about how he was a great mayor, but wouldn't be a good president.

It's a very smart move. A lot of people from New York when he was mayor are retiring to Florida. Personally, however, I don't think Ghoul did anything but secure his own loss in the primary elections. He screwed himself by getting such low percentages more than once!

its as simple as this, if Rudy wins florida he will win the election.

Not because he is awesome or anything, but because it was set up to happen before any of this started.

I still think there is some shady deals going on behind closed doors to get him to win, but noone expected him to do so badly in these first primary states

Huckabee is rising in North Florida and McCain is challenging Rudy's base in the populous southern parts of the state. It's at least a three-way race right now, maybe four now that Romney has some Mo' or even five if Fred comes back from the dead. Whichever beast is beheaded here, one of the others will pop up to take its place.

While I agree that some vote-splitting helps Paul, there's too much going on for him to keep his head above water. When it's down to two candidates other than Paul, we can start making some inroads.

Florida is a huge state with a massive amount of people spread throughout the state.

Your comment is like me saying, "There are lots of New Yorkers in NYC... So he will win New Hampshire"

Miami is not Jacksonville - Tampa is not Ocala - Naples is not Pensacola - Orlando is not the Everglades.

While I resent the ignorant and idiotic comment regarding "the Jews", I would say that he is generally correct. You must not be from the east coast, because a LOT of New Yorkers move and retire to Florida. The elderly population in Florida is huge, and the elderly vote in HIGH numbers.
