RP supporters acting like jerks in FL

I'm watching CNN reporting on a Giuliani event in Florida. You can barely hear the reporter over the yelling in the background, which the reporter informs us is a group of Ron Paul supporters trying to interrupt and interfere with Giuliani's press conference.

If I was an undecided voter in Florida, that classless performance would have given me a very negative view towards Ron Paul that would be very hard to overcome.

Quieting holding up signs to get in camera shots is one thing -- shouting down opponents and interfering with their freedom of speech is quite another. I can't say how this looked on the ground, but it was terrible on national TV. This didn't win us any votes and probably lost us some. Not an effective tactic.

I guess my question is did they SHOW this happening, or just say it? I mean can you make out what the people shouting are saying?

I wouldn't put a blatant lie such as this past any of the MSM at this point. Last, I've come to the point where I believe that other campaigns have paid staff that pretends to be RP supporters and act like dicks...that wouldn't be half as bad as some of the things Hillary's campaign has done during this campaign.

Who wants to hear Rudy talk about 9/11 anymore anyway. He is another "Print and Spend" candidate. Rudy will lose FL and drop out. Lets get RP in the top 3 here in FL.

While I couldn't make out the exact words, it sounded just like other examples when our supporters have crossed the line between being enthusiastic (which is good) and being obnoxious (which is not). Whoever was shouting (and I'm pretty sure it was our folks) it sounded like taunting. Not the kind of image we should be projecting.

The reporter didn't dwell on it -- she just was explaining what the background noise was.

I'm sure the folks doing the shouting didn't think they had crossed the line, but it really came across bad on TV.

That is what revolutions SHOULD do -

Scream at Rudy so loud that they can't help but hear us - perfect !

Encourage this BIG TIME ! Youthful energy is what the real GOP wants and needs - not complacent Rudy lackeys silently standing.

It's just TOO BAD that it is too warm in Florida to throw snowball or iceballs at Rudy's head, and knock some sense into Mr."Freedom is About Authority" Giuliani.

The ex-Dem., ex-Indeep. fake catholic, adulterer, 1969 draft dodger needs to be booed right out of the presidential race with a single digit below 5% showing in Florida so he can be excluded from all future Fox debates - forever.

Giuliani has mocked and laughed at Ron Paul at every debate so far.... all while getting 2% of the vote in every primary. The media has completely ignored or slandered Ron Paul and his supporters for months now.

AND YOUR GETTING MAD AT PAUL SUPPORTERS FOR "BEING RUDE BY SHOUTING TOO LOUD"!

There is nothing to lose at being vocal and visible at functions like these.

FUK JulieAnie and CNN and FOX! This is a revolution, not an election, i wish more people would wake up and realize that NICE doesn't cut it anymore in this country! RON PAUL played nice and they laugh at him? Yeah, i agree that this might have been planted because it doesn't sound like Ron Paul people who do nothing but be nice and polite like Ron Paul himself.

Agree. There is a fine line between campaigning and peaceful revolution. There is another fine line between peaceful revolution (civil disobedience) and hooliganism. Then another line between peaceful revolution and bloody revolution, but that line is not so fine. We have to determine if we are going to be working toward peaceful revolution or bloody revolution. I opt for the former, which means that we have to play ball to some degree. Yeah, Rude Rudy had his fun on the debates, and I think that cost him dearly as we are seeing in the primaries so far. Let's not make the same mistake Rude Rudy made.

I have never understood why we go to other people's campaign rallies. This tactic may help at the beginning of a campaign because many people are undecided and just want to get more info on candidates. But 10 days out, people go to a Giuliani, McCain or Romney event to hear those candidates speak, not to hear chants by another candidates' supporters.

We did a lot of this in NH and it did nothing but get us beat by Giuliani for the first and ONLY time. I think that should be enough proof that it does not help. How would we like it if a bunch of neo-cons showed up at every Ron Paul event and chanted him down. Do what Dr. Paul said in the last debate, treat people the same way we would like to be treated.

Yup. Should be out canvassing for our guy instead.

Why do we act this way? It is very disrespectful.

A lot of people my age really fail to understand how important integrity and respect is, especially in politics. Oh well. Hopefully when people see stuff like this, they realize it's only certain supporters and not all of us, and not RP himself.

Other than the election. If you don't care about Ron winning votes from regular Americans (i.e. the majority of voters) then by all means continue. Who cares if Ron's already high negatives climb higher. Who cares if more Americans write Ron Paul off as a candidate they will NEVER support. I guess what matters most is having a good time.

Just to be clear, having a wall of Ron Paul signs behind Giuliani so that the cameras can't miss it is great. Spirited shouting can be good too -- but not when someone is trying to speak -- and especially not to reporters. We have enough problems trying to get good press coverage -- we don't need to convince journalists that all Ron Paul supporters really are crazy.

Show me ONE example where this type of behavior led to an election win. It doesn't -- which is why campaigns that are serious about winning don't do it.

Are we serious about winning -- or not?

We really have to understand the differnce in campaign and revolution. If the campaign does not work then the revolution should be let loose. Riight now it should all be about winning friends and influmcing people to vote for RP--even the supporters of other candidates!

Disagree.

The media has shut RP down, they have called him longshot since day one while propping one after another of the other fools up and declaring them a frontrunner. Now they are back to ignoring us, and if the only way to get Ron Paul's name across the airwaves is by crashing their press conferences, then so be it.

If American's are so blind that they can't see what the media is pulling, then them getting "turned off" by these tactics doesn't hurt us because they would never have been with us anyway. I know this is going to be a divisive issue, that's my opinion though.
