RP supporters acting like jerks in FL

and what else would you suggest we do when the msm does a total blackout on Ron Paul???? Stay in our homes and hide under blankets? This is a fight for the future of our country. Any other candidate but Ron Paul is CERTAIN DOOM!

Agree. There is a fine line between campaigning and peaceful revolution. There is another fine line between peaceful revolution (civil disobedience) and hooliganism. Then another line between peaceful revolution and bloody revolution, but that line is not so fine. We have to determine if we are going to be working toward peaceful revolution or bloody revolution. I opt for the former, which means that we have to play ball to some degree. Yeah, Rude Rudy had his fun on the debates, and I think that cost him dearly as we are seeing in the primaries so far. Let's not make the same mistake Rude Rudy made.

I agree.

you are wrong this type of thing is stupid and turns people off, do NOT GO to other campaign events and disrupt it turned off so many people in NH :( learn from mistakes and stop making them!

Agreed. The MSM paints us as a bunch of obnoxious nitwit clods. And then these people keep showing the voters they are right!

Guys, when you talk about media blackouts and how the news is deliberately ignoring RP, it sounds so silly...

Soon it will be a time for guns and ammo, because the peaceful way is not cutting it anyway.

Buy the time. TV networks have to sell the campaign the time if they sell it to any candidates and they have to run the ads we give them.

It was an anti-abortion group too, but CNN didn't report that did they?

I agree with the opening post that this behavior is obnoxious and turns off far more potential converts than it attracts. Didn't anyone learn ANYTHING from what went down in NH? This is the reason I had decided not to participate in any more "money bombs". Why should I send in my hard-earned money just to have it negated by the actions of people who claim to be Ron Paul supporters. In the end I did donate to yesterday's money bomb, but less than I otherwise would have. Yes, enthusiasm is good, but being obnoxious heels is not good.

I disagree

I disagree, but FYI ammo has trippled in cost and is susposed to double again. For reloaders powder is at 40 feds per pound and will double. Hope this helps.

I'm watching CNN reporting on a Giuliani event in Florida. You can barely hear the reporter over the yelling in the background, which the reporter informs us is a group of Ron Paul supporters trying to interrupt and interfere with Giuliani's press conference.

If I was an undecided voter in Florida, that classless performance would have given me a very negative view towards Ron Paul that would be very hard to overcome.

Quieting holding up signs to get in camera shots is one thing -- shouting down opponents and interfering with their freedom of speech is quite another. I can't say how this looked on the ground, but it was terrible on national TV. This didn't win us any votes and probably lost us some. Not an effective tactic.

From what I've read, the pro-lifers have been following him everywhere.

Palm Beach, FL (LifeNews.com) --
Rudy Giuliani's campaign has been disrupted a second time by pro-life advocates who heckled him as he tried to talk with supporters in the key Republican battleground state. They say the only self-declared pro-abortion GOP candidate is no fit for a party that supports the pro-life position.

Pro-life advocates crashed a planned speech last week and, this time, they drowned out a press conference along with supporters of Republican hopeful Ron Paul.
Rudy campaigned at a local restaurant and, after visiting with patrons there, indicated he would take questions from the press outside.
But pro-life advocates shouted him down saying, "Rudy is not a true conservative! Rudy is a traitor to innocent life!"
After three minutes of failing to be able to hold the press conference, reporters were forced to move inside to hear Giuliani answer questions.
Last week, Giuliani got an earful about abortion at campaign stops in Florida. Giuliani eventually canceled his speech at his first bus-tour event Sunday in Miami because of the heckling.

When Giuliani arrived, 26-year-old Joseph Landry moved to within a few feet of the former New York mayor and began yelling, "You are a baby killer! You are a baby killer! Florida is pro-life! Rudy wants public funding for abortion!"

According to a statement Landry sent LifeNews.com, law enforcement officials immediately escorted him from the area while he continued talking about Giuliani's pro-abortion record.
Minutes afterwards, 28-year-old Steven Pokorny began to shout to those gathered for the Giuliani event saying, "A third of my generation is dead because of politicians like Giuliani! Giuliani wants to kill children and have you pay for it!"
According to the two pro-life people, Giuliani supporters shouted back saying their claims weren't true.
However, instead of local police escorting Pokorny away from the gathering, Giuliani gave up on trying to give his campaign address and left the building without speaking to the crowd.
I think we need to hear from someone who is there before RP people get blamed for this. They may have just got caught up in the pro-lifers' protest.

Everyone latches their cause onto Ron's coat tails.
I can't explain it, but that's the way it is.

Sorry to hear that a couple idiots can cause so much trouble...but at least they are voicing their opinions and standing up for what they feel is right.

I am more or less pro choice...depending on the situation....so I don’t agree with their cause, but they are allowed to say what they want to...that is their right as an American.

That said, Palm Beach Gardens is my back yard. The local supporters around here are above such childish behavior and would never act out in such a reprehensible way.
They'll wave signs and talk to people, but would never act like fools, especially in front of news cameras.

Many are just out of touch with social norms. The last rally I attended, A New Years Eve Rally, we had to chase off some of the Fringe/Truther types because all they wanted to do was yell and scream like jerks... they don't care about Dr. Paul or the Constitution, it's about their own warped sense of the world.. it's Me, Me, Me with most of em. The whole lot isn't worth much.

That would have won my vote.

No, they didn't. However, it was mentioned in later online & print articles. Makes a little more sense for them to be taunting Giuliani.

I'll bet there were a lot more Ron Paul signs and the reporter jumped to the wrong conclusion. It appears to have just begun right before the reporter went on the air.

Regardless of the certainty of proof in the matter, the point is very relevant because I have seen a great deal of immaturity among members of this forum in how they seem to desire to portray Dr. Paul's message. I think, first and foremost, that in order for those touting that "civil disobedience" is supported by Dr. Paul, they should learn what "civil disobedience" in terms of a NONVIOLENT revolution truly means. I highly suggest reading up on Henry David Thoreau's book entitled Civil Disobedience as well as the speeches, writings, and tactics of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement (which we are STILL a part of today, the movement has NOT ended as many people appear to believe).

Inciting riots, disturbing the peace, and preventing a candidate from exercising his/her First Amendment rights does not in any manner fall into the realm of Civil Disobedience. Putting a wall of Ron Paul signs in a place that the media cannot avoid showing while covering the candidate, jeering and booing when s/he breaks for the supporters to cheer, or opposing unconstitutional laws by failing to adhere to them are all viable means of nonviolent civil disobedience (though the latter may earn you a ticket to jail) used for protest. There are hundreds of others. However, there are also plenty of means of civil disobedience which do NOT fall under the category of nonviolent. Since Dr. Paul's message, similar to that of Dr. King, is about nonviolence at home, peace abroad, and liberty for all; it would be ludicrous to believe that engaging in VIOLENT acts of civil disobedience, or acts which violate the ethically sanctioned liberties of others, would be seen as acceptable to Dr. Paul, his true supporters, or the general populace of America!

I ask that people THINK before they act. rEVOLution!
