Ron Paul's First Ad - as per his facebook

You are wrong.

To the average voter, "Jobs = economy."
"Federal Reserve, Debt Ceiling, Inflation does NOT equal economy"

I'm telling you with certainty the average American doesn't give a damn about the debt ceiling and it's all theatrics until the next filler story comes along.

again, the ad is clear, timely, and distinguishes Ron Paul from the rest of the leadership. I am not wrong about this. The ad is clear because it highlights the issue, bad economy. It is timely, because the Republican leadership is about to let down Iowa Republican voters by caving to Obama. It distinguishes Ron Paul as someone who has consistently not backed down.

You are wrong because you claim Iowa Rep voters and GOP voters, and now simply voters don't care about this.

Here is why you are wrong.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...-what-they-dont/2011/06/27/AGzdAroH_blog.html

Kim Alfano, a Republican media consultant who made the ads for Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad’s (R) successful 2010 campaign, said the key to Hawkeye State GOPers’ hearts in 2012 will be “battle-ability”.

“Iowa caucus-goers may have conceded deep in the recesses of their brains that maybe none of these guys can beat a billion dollars, but they will then choose someone who will constantly and relentlessly take it to Obama on his failed economy and failed moral drive to the left,” Alfano explained. “The more vitriol and fire, the better.”

Ron Paul is ready for battle, and that is exactly what this ad is portraying now that I view it again in this light.

The spot, set to begin airing Friday, follows on Paul’s aggressive stand on the debt issue, as the Texas Republican is also part of a grassroots effort encouraging Americans to lobby Congress against raising the debt ceiling.

The 60-second spot, made with all the flare of a Hollywood movie preview, is part of a six-figure ad buy in the early-voting states, just the latest step forward in the Texas congressman’s increasingly serious campaign.

Wow!

This ad was perfect -- suck in the audience who cares about an important current issue, show what happens when you cave in, and then present the candidate who doesn't compromise, and who will defeat the enemy on the issue the audience cares about.

Incredible.

Furthermore, the debt ceiling isn't even a significant issue with the GOP voters, believe it or not. In the bigger picture, jobs are. The economy is. Debt ceiling? They could care less.

You clearly haven't spoken to the same Republicans i have. People are furious about the whole thing.

I personally think its a great start! We need more dynamic ads such as this. I want to see Ron Paul in person in an ad and then we'll really know he's in it to win it.

Dude, if you don't know that by now, you never will. Dr. Paul announcing that he wasn't going to run for re-election to Congress should have told us all that he was in this to win.

Yeah, I noticed the moving goal posts myself. What if it happens that the best ads for Ron have stills like this? Or clips of speeches predicting what happened?

As my brother likes to say Booyah! The best and most effective ad I have seen this election cycle by any of the candidates. You know the ad is good when the resident official campaign hater, rockandroll, hates it. You know the campaign did great because rockandroll who believes there is no media bias against Dr. Paul criticizes it. This ad rocks (pun intended).

Ad was perfect. Pounding "Ron Paul" and clips of him speaking would immediately turn off all the sheeple that have been led to believe he is just an "old wacko"...That ad screams of youth, creativity and seems 1000x more energetic and current than anything any of the other candidates will be turning out. Contrast that with the typical "Hi, I'm a robot and I love kids and old people..." commercials that are sure to be in full effect. It's not about the debt, or any other issue, it's image...and we need to shatter the "old guy with old ideas" image the MSM has tagged him with. A monster first step. Again, perfect. I can't believe I just watched that.

I liked the wording "they did it to Reagan". It moves him closer to Reagan. We'd want to use the 2 Rons pix somewhere, use the endorsement. But we have the "I want to totally disassociate myself from the Reagan Administration" to deal with in the best manner possible. And then the libertarian run.

Bah, humbug!

Just let us bask a bit, can't you? :p

The ad made it clear that the Democrats were worse than the Republicans. Sometimes R's think that RP likes Ds more than Rs. very much a D's suck, but the R's suck almost as much. The attitude was extremely tea party, or Conservative Republican. This is the key tea party issue of the moment, and Ron Paul is clearly on the tea party side. the ad says we get where you're coming from tea party, and we're with you 100%. There are some Republicans who think we should compromise and raise taxes. They like Romney.

And only Ron has served in Congress and never voted for an unbalanced budget, and never voted for a raise in the debt ceiling....

I'm not trying to be negative, by their wording it looks like they're on top of it.

Great ad, directly targeted at the tea party, which is exactly what they should be doing.

No, certain candidates will be trying to say, one way or another, "I'm the real tea party candidate". (Bachmann, Paul, Cain, Palin, and Perry will try, and I'd strongly recommend attacking him viciously immediately and relentlessly, a full on grass roots barrage. Of all the candidates, 2008 and 2012, Perry is the worst.

Do you have a marketing or advertising background? Because, you do realize, that you have to brand yourself to win, right? Everybody and their mother is going to be running "I'M A JOB CREATOR" ads. Ron isn't going to do that, because he doesn't profess to be one. He needs to stand out in order to win. Playing it safe will not work. This election, will be about the economy. Even in Iowa. So let's leave the social issue pandering to Santorum, or later on. People have the perception that Ron isn't a conservative. This ad says he is more conservative than weak GOP leadership. People think Ron is a weak old man. This is a very strong looking ad. THIS AD ISN'T ABOUT THE DEBT CEILING! It's just the issue they've chosen to deliver the message of his commitment to fiscal responsibility. The debt ceiling is a vehicle, that's it. And I think you're underestimating how much people care about this issue. When I listen to local talk radio, they can't talk about it enough.

AWESOME! Just like a Rand ad!

What's really making me happy about this ad is how freaking different it is from his lame 08 ads.

If this ad energizes every supporter like it does for me, Ready Ames Fire will be a huge money bomb!

This video got me pumped big time. I decided to test it on my Mom. Now my Mom has been converted to a Paul voter but she is really not all that political. She does not really know uch about the Fed and other things that send us into a rage because she really does not care. She is a lifelong Republican who really only votes for Dr. Paul because of my constant lectures and because I assured her that he is not a crook like the rest. I asked her to watch the video. About halfway through she said "wow.. this is a good advertisement" and at the end she was quite shocked. Her response was "That does not look like other Ron Paul stuff you have shown me"
