Ron Paul Takes Lead at 27.5% in Iowa KCRG/Gazette Poll

30% not out of reach. Never thought that was even possible. Now even a NH win seems possible. Paul's focus on these first two states could pay off huge dividends.

Winning the women crosstab is highly unusual. I don't believe I've ever seen that in either this cycle or 2008.
The only important thing is winning overall. The last 3 polls in a row now have shown Ron Paul in the lead. That's all that matters.

"James McCormick, professor and chair of political science at Iowa State and coordinator of the poll, says the polling found that 51 percent of those naming the libertarian-leaning Texan as their first choice are “definitely” backing him.

The percentage for the next two candidates is much weaker, at 16.1 percent for Romney and 15.2 for Gingrich, McCormick said."

:D

While I share concerns with the reliability of this poll, I do hope that it's at least showing the trend of Ron having stronger and stronger support.

I'm not sure Gingrich is that high, but if it was taken over 11 days, perhaps his decline has not been fully shown yet. And I do think Romney higher with the youth vote then they have him. Geese, even Santorum scores more with them.

I think it's likely Gingrich is lower and Romney higher. But so long as Paul wins, I'll be happy. The icing on the cake would be Romney finishing third or even lower. Maybe with a Santorum surge.

This poll is weird but I'll certainly take it tho. Is 27% our new ceiling? :p

So anyone under 45 years old is definitely voting Ron Paul.

BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

I'd say the 2nd choice undecided votes above are Paul supporters who will not vote for anyone but Paul,IMO.

Good theory.

A week at home for Christmas will produce many new Ron Paul supporters. Imagine the conversions taking place among Iowa Christmas Day dinners...

Ron Paul could end up taking this with huge numbers and that could just set him up for NH - a landslide would be sweet.

Every poll I see we are a few points higher than the previous one. Will be interesting what the final DMR poll says.

As a former neocon, I take great pleasure in seeing their panic right now.

Keep fighting for Iowa. A win is great. A landslide win even greater.
