This is why the quality of speeches needs to be extremely high. I'm really glad the campaign had the speech contest, and I hope presenters take advantage of it once the winners are announced. Imagine if the speeches are effective with older voters. Go in with the world expecting 30%, and Ron comes out over 50%. The world would change overnight.

The importance of the speeches cannot be overrated.

There's an example of that from 2007, if someone can recall it. Huge gains from a two-minute speech.

I wish they showed the trend. I'd like to see if the slop they are shoveling out on Ron is sticking with the uninformed to any great extent.

I don't think there's any doubt anymore that the brochures work. The surge from teens to solid 20's happened right after they were mailed out.

I'm wondering if people will bring up the smears against Ron at the caucuses. Our guys need to be prepared for it. Maybe bring that NPR article showing Ron required his partner to agree to no abortions, no acceptance of medicare or medicaid, but never turning anyone away who couldn't pay, so he was giving free and discount service to some of the poorest people of all races in Brazoria county. With direct evidence of who HE is, the idea that some who wrote for a separately managed newsletter may not have always been as pure as him, twenty years ago, loses a lot of sting. Also bring his Restore America Plan showing that senior entitlements are not cut etc. Because those are the things I would expect to see thrown at him, since his PHILOSOPHIC position on unconstitutional programs is better known than his actual plan for America.
