Ron Paul Takes Lead at 27.5% in Iowa KCRG/Gazette Poll

Strange, this poll has us uber-strong with women. That's very out of character for Paul's support.

On the other hand didn't wrong have a ceiling at 5 err 10 err 15 err 20 err 25 percent?? I guess it is 27.5 now :D

I don't think there's any doubt anymore that the brochures work. The surge from teens to solid 20's happened right after they were mailed out.

holy wow. I never thought we'd see anything near these kinds of numbers in Iowa. incredible, incredible. I thought going into the caucus we'd be seeing dead heat with Newt and Romney...

makes me optimistic about NH and future states.

can i get a breakdown of how many of our voters are "firm voters" compared to the salamander and mitt
Please do not insult salamanders. It's too cruel. It's also too bad that Newt changed his original name (Knut) to one that demeans the salamanders' cousin.

Absolutely murdering the youth vote and the next one. Still hurting with the oldies.

Remember this poll was taken over 10 days, many of those days before Newt really fell as well as the fact their previous poll was taken just before Gingrich's dramatic rise.

Ron probably has a bigger lead!

I'd say the 2nd choice undecided votes above are Paul supporters who will not vote for anyone but Paul,IMO.

this is what makes me uneasy about the reliability of this poll.

keep pushing
Women tend to be more open to different ideas than men. The men probably like Gingrich because of his hawkish foreign policy. Most of those women are probably young. Then again I could be wrong.

Winning the women crosstab is highly unusual. I don't believe I've ever seen that in either this cycle or 2008.
