Ron Paul: Our Liberties Come From Our Creator

Also ever bought a dog,cat or raised cattle, chickens, or ever eaten a banana :P

Actually, I think nearly every single domesticated animal, and every species of plant used for agricultural or decorative purposes have undergone artificial selection at some point. Which is proof on some level for evolution, as it is evidence for an important aspect of it(e.g. heritability of traits)

Well, that throws out survival of the fittest. Yeah, they didn't survive, because we decided they weren't fit.

No, it doesn't. "Fit" in the sense of "Survival of the Fittest" refers to how the organism fares in its environment, not how "strong" it is. We as humans simply determined which specimens were "fit" for our purposes, and ensured only they passed on their genetic material.

YOUR RIGHT! because survival of the fittest does not apply to a controlled environment. In the wild most breeds of dogs would not survive. The only reason they exist is because we choose to provide an environment in which they can survive.

Uh... what?

Otherwise, it's just indoctrination.

I don't see how parents dictating what's taught isn't indoctrination, especially if they choose to totally ignore or defame particular portions of science because it doesn't agree with what they were taught as a kid. It's not state indoctrination, but it's indoctrination nonetheless.

What wasn't clear? For evolution to be true, a necessary condition is the heritability of traits through genes. Artificial selection involves the selection of these traits through breeding through offspring. And for example, every variety of dog we have is the offspring of artificial selection.

It isn't really indoctrination either if evidence is presented and taught and it is explained that evolution is currently accepted because it presents the best explanation for observable phenomena.

Heritability of traits

Are traits that are based on recessive and dominant genes, They idea is used to selectively breed plants and animals to have certain traits. Your parents have brown hair and eyes so you most likely will have brown hair and eyes. It shows variation in genes and how differences in traits are possible in offspring.
