Ron Paul on Ed & Elaine Brown -- reported in Concord Monitor (NH paper)

You may be right, on second thought. This is a tough one. I know that personally I would not have the courage to do what the Browns are doing, especially since I have a family to care for, and jail doesn't pay the rent. The points on Gandhi and MLK are good ones. I wouldn't mind seeing a clarification.

Lleppard, (and Liberty Eagle and the rest who have concerns)

I think all Ron Paul has to say is this:

"All the Brown's asked for was to be shown the law that required them to pay taxes. Is that an unreasonable request?"

This is an issue where if the MSM makes a big deal about it, it is going to blow up in their faces and a LOT of people are going to get educated and start asking questions.

That's my 5 cents (inflation)

If you want to reach them in a timely manner, you'd better call rather than send an email.

Yeah, the state and its mouthpiece will shoot themselves in the foot if they try to use this against RP for the very reason you cite.

Another great way to turn this event into an eye opener for the american public... "wait, there isn't a law requiring you to pay an unapportioned direct tax from the federal government?"

oh, and your 2 cents is now a dollar in todays society.

I agree with Ron on this.

One thing the state tends to do that we need to make people aware of: when it goes up against someone and the someone resists and their resistance appears to have traction with the general public, the state will make all sorts of accusations to get the general public to turn on the someone.

Expect allegations of child porn/child abuse/.........

See former UN Inspector Scott Ritter for evidence of that. When the UN pulled out the Iraqi inspectors, and the adminstration was making the case to go to war in Iraq, Ritter started showing up on TV telling everybody that he did not believe that Hussein had any WMDs and that it was wrong for us to invade that country.

Per Wikipedia: In 2001, Ritter was arrested near Albany, NY. News reports state that Ritter had brushes with police on two occasions, both involving allegations of intent to meet underage girls after chatting on the Internet. Per an agreement with Assistant District Attorney Cynthia Preiser, the charges were suspended for six months, and were dropped after no further allegations arose.

Ritter also has been insisting that the plan to bomb Iran has been in place since June 2005. GW is ready to go - all he has to do is give the signal.

While I agree it is dangerous, I differ on the reasons why. If Dr. Paul is challenged on this through the mainstream media rhetoric or in debates, I have full confidence he can answer why he made this statement and support it fully. His answer will make alot of American's take notice and want to research more. I think if they try to crucify him on this, the "blowback" from it will be to our advantage.

The reason why I think it is dangerous is because people get killed for this sort of "truthfulness". I'd be surprised if he is asked to even explain himself in a debate as this isn't the sort of thing they DON'T want debated, if you know what I mean.

Have you researched the Federal Reserve or the illegality of income taxes? If not, I can provide some great video's for you.

Is it possible that Dr. Paul is so intelligent that he is purposefully laying these traps to get the MSM to bite on them so he can have a public forum on these very issues?

He's brilliant, we all know that.

However I think Ron's just stating truth, and the truth confuses the MSM.

yeh, but why doesn't anyone ask... what law requires me to pay income tax? under what law did the Browns receive sentencing? There has to be a law in order to recieve a sentence, right?

Because no one can imagine that there isn't a law. Their minds can't fathom it.

Which leads me to wonder why a law hasn't been subsequently passed.

It is off of drudge now. Should just be a blip on the radar.

This is a great issue, but he needs stuff that the average american can understand and support. Not paying taxes seems to extreme to most people.

IMO: Drudge was TOLD to take that down. Think about it - the state CANNOT AFFORD to have more and more americans getting the to the truth about what is/has been going on re: income taxes. They're in enough of a mess with Russo's work!

The state has realized that if they try to attack RP on this, they'll suffer IMMENSE blowback.

He wouldn't have said it if he didn't think that it would lead the debate to a direction of his liking. I can't wait until someone questions him about this, and you know they will. A whole lot of eyes are about to be opened my friends!

Whole lot of eyes being opened is exactly why the MSM will be ordered not to address it with Dr. Paul.

They can't handle whole lots of eyes being opened.

Reminds me of that Henry Ford quote...

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning."

I think it's applicable to the income tax situation, too..
