But Humphrey, Gore, and some others have proven that it isn't a sure road.
Correction: I should've said tried-and-true approach to become the nominee.

Most likely, yeah. But will the country last that long? I mean really.
Fascinating read from a perspective I had not considered. Thanks for sharing.
If Ron wins the nomination and then loses against Obama the talking points would then be "see, we told you those silly small government ideas aren't electable". That is definitely a risk. But if Ron runs, doesn't receive the nomination, and the GOP nominee loses, then WE can say that people have rejected big-government Republicanism.
Agreed. Build our organization and become pervasive on state and local level politics because that's where our efforts will last the longest.I'm not focused on those outcomes. I think everybody should try their best to produce the following outcome: Ron Paul wins the republican nomination, the general election, and becomes President. Just try that and let the chips fall where they may.
In the meantime, email everyone and his dog that the May 5 debate is going to be unusually entertaining. Hell, Gingrich alone will see to that. But they'll 'accidently' learn something, too.
Planting seeds now is a very good plan.
Gingrch's camp isn't sure he'll have the committee formed at that time. They say IF he does, he'd be in it. But Romney announcing his committee makes me think HE might end up in it.
