Ron Paul has hired Doug Wead

Doug Wead's philosophy is basically that Ron Paul needs to go ALL-IN for the Iowa Straw Poll. Then he needs to go ALL-IN for the Iowa Caucus. From there, everything else snowballs.

The only question I have is with what Wead's capacity will be. If he's an advisor whispering in Ron's ear, great. A debate coach? Even better. Running tactics and overseeing how we're going to win Iowa? That would be the most fantastic news in a while.

Barely knew about him a couple days ago. After reading about him online now pretty psyched. Guy could have a BIG impact.

Music to my ears and now doing happy dance~

Doing happy dance~

We have a bunch of have fascinating and candid clips of Doug Wead from the interview we shot at his house we never got to use in the documentary. I was just looking through these on the hard drives kind of bummed we never found a place for them.

Here's a sample I just uploaded, never been seen before. Here he's commenting on the late start Ron Paul's campaign had in 2007. He mentions "The Cavalcade" and at first we were like "what the hell is that?" Turns out that's what the Iowa Straw Poll used to be called.

What's interesting in this clip, in the new news of the 2012 campaign hiring him, is what he's saying here has actually happened this time.

He is a true believer in the message.

Doug Weed is the man!! He will be a huge asset throughout the campaign especially in Iowa and probably with fundraising too. Glad to hear this. Anyone know if Peter Schiff will be an adviser again?

I guess the big question now is...

WHAT will he be doing?

Raising money with all his connections? Prepping Ron with buzzwords? Helping get endorsements and smoothing things out with the power players in the GOP?

I mean what is this guys specialty in politics? I know he's a historian but that doesn't do anything for the campaign.

Whether we like it or not, Schiff is too fringe to be involved this time. Jim Rogers would be the best pick.

Jim Rogers fled to Singapore to avoid US tyranny. That's probably a liiiiilllll more extreme than Schiff who lives in the US and actually received a decent amount of support during his senate campaign.

There are plenty of "fringe" characters Ron should disassociate himself with, but i'm curious why you think people perceive Schiff as fringe?

Which actually gives him MORE credibility than Schiff. And he's still a US taxpayer.
