Ron Paul Billboards (48 feet by 14 feet) need mockups!

"A-flag" font ornament version update

This one is really nice as well. However, I think the message could be worked on so that its not necessary to detract attention to specific words.

The "font ornament" on this Billboard is the 2008 "A-flag", I hope it can be updated to reflect the current version used in hard and soft media being produced for the campaign. Please, correct me if I am mistaken. I'm still looking for strong confirmation on what version of the "font ornament" "A-flag" should be used.

This one might have potential... I just don't like the word "donations" being smaller than the more military. Can that be changed? And we don't know what you're comparing to--more miliatary donations than teacher donations or union donations? Seems like we have to have the other candidates there somewhere...

This one illustrates the "double stack" technique I am developing with:

MO_53_MORE_RP_v02-08_Red-L.jpg

"DONATION$" set over a red background is "call to action".

As Chainspell said earlier in the thread the 53% is the eye-grabber.

RON
PAUL
DONATION$

is a "stack".

53%
MORE
MILITARY

is a "stack"

"MORE MILITARY DONATIONS" - (reads or flows left to right).

Can someone try one with the pie chart that is on the supportthemnow website taking up about half of the sign and Ron Paul's smiling picture on the other side? And something that says--The Military's Choice...

Laura, "The Military's Choice" for what? The word donations must be in there. Ron Paul's name must be in there.

The Military's Choice = 3 words
Ron Paul = 2 words
Donations = 1 word
1 Image = (comlex, illegible text)
1 Image = Ron Paul portrait photo

The absolute simplest, bare bones illustration of this idea has 8 elements, 2 of which are images. From your work in this thread you should know the figures on the pie chart will not be legible and will only serve to distract and confuse the viewer at highway speeds and Billboard distances. I've cut it down to 6 elements.

Please, everybody in this thread or those considering entering the thread and posting product, we all need to buckle down and take dusman's words more seriously. Dusman is very busy and very productive in many threads. Dusman took a lot of time out of his limited time to assist us in this thread with his well written and thoughtful post. These complex concepts are not effective. We must follow Best Practices of Billboard Design. Genius, blinding brilliant genius is simplicity.

I actually think this one is very catchy, but the # would be higher than 53%. Can someone do the math? He got 53% of all the donations. That's ?? more than Obama got .... ?? MORE military donations than ANY other candidate... And then would you want to send them to www.supportTHEMnow.com?

Verizon Math...Paul would not approve. If you want to use the word "MORE" and be accurate, it's 110% more donations than all other candidates.

Yes, a big fat "110%" is going to grab attention, but when comparing two or more pieces of data, a bar graph can make a greater impact. When done right, a graphs speak volumes. (It's why they are used in newspapers, text books, annual reports.)

Since data in a graph is readily accessible, it could even be argued that displaying the value of each the bars is unnecessary.

Save the pies for dessert

I'm not a defender of pie charts in most cases because conventional wisdom says they provide no visual assistance in comparing categories since people have a hard time compare "angles."

Three or four pieces of data...a pie is usually okay. However, in this case, a pie simply doesn't work because it's shape doesn't favor the long horizontal format of billboard. Sure, you could scale it to the point of bleeding off the edge, but then it becomes indiscernible as a pie chart.

MAXIMUM GOLDEN SHIZZLE has been achieved, Houston, we have lift off.

Talking to a billboard expert and he says... the top writing should be 25% bigger. I also say, try OUR TROOPS $UPPORT PAUL. The "more" is showed by the bargraph, but the "our" brings it to their heart. The move the bar graphs down a bit to make more room for the larger letters at the top. You don't need the period after Paul, I don't think. Then this needs to be submitted in quarter scale--a pdf that is 3.5 x 12 INCHES, I believe. Try making the names to the left of the bar graphs bigger or bolder font--esp. Ron Paul. And on the support them now.com try to have the letters on support the same height as the them and now... This has to be read when people are going 70 miles an hour and when it's way up high! Looks good! Thanks for your efforts..

I just posted this in the wrong place I think... but here it is again....

Larua and FBappDev's suggestions, and we LOVE it.

"OUR TROOPS"

Increase Top Slogan by 25% or more.

Maximize size of "Bar Graph Labels" while maintaining whiteSpace flow.

Lower graph to compensate for Top Slogan enlargment.

Dollar sign to replace "S" in Support, perhaps?

URL elements could be enlarged as well, I LOVE the stack though as the URL is weak with the repeated "t".

---------------------------------

Might use "cicle" font, which is a free, close approximation to the font Obama uses, and use this for his name.

Use minion for Ron Paul's name, (and Minion for the slogan)

Didn't know if anyone noticed that the billboard that the chip-in is for has the older "aquafresh" logo on the "A" in Paul instead of the red, white, red.

Don't know if this is a problem.
