Ron Paul attracts 2,000-plus to University of Rhode Island town hall meeting

2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul drew a remarkable 2,000-plus supporters and undecided voters to his University of Rhode Island town hall meeting.

Big crowds comprised of the university and general community greeted the 12-term Congressman from Texas less than one week ahead of the state’s Tuesday, March 24th Republican primary, and the day prior to the Paul campaign airing its celebrated television ad ‘The Plan’ to cement support in time for the Ocean State’s nominating contest.

Dr. Paul’s college campus town hall meeting took place at 7:00 p.m. ET in the University of Rhode Island’s Keaney Gymnasium, located on Tootell Road in South Kingstown, RI 02881. At the event, Dr. Paul discussed his platform of constitutionally-limited government, restoring civil and economic liberties, and elements of his path-breaking ‘Plan to Restore America.’

Here's a good one, it is one of Gage's which means when you use it you have to give credit to Gage Skidmore for the image but that is all he asks:

it looks like lots of undecided voters, the people there do not have Paul t-shirts or signs which is a good sign.

Say, is this Ron's only event in Rhode Island? If it is, then he should expand his schedule and meet more voters instead of a fly and drop in rally and a drop out to another state.

It looks like from the picture it might be more, but I can't see if the whole gym is filled since you only see half. Generally he would be facing one grand stand rather than down the middle if both weren't full though. If they were I suspect 2000 is a low ball. The article was kinda snarky/clipped, with the 'trailing Romney' and the 'traveling WITH Callista' bits.

He usually does a fundraiser or two at the same time, lately, but they are closed to media,

I was there. I'd estimate about 80% capacity in the bleachers plus another
300 that were on the floor. It was a superb truth bomb fest!

thank you for that one! So it WAS full all the way back. That is what I wasn't sure of. It sure looks like more than 2000 to me, since the bleachers on both sides were mostly full PLUS the crowd in the court....

Actually, it looks like standing room only, look in the top bleachers.

from an angle looking at Ron there was a strip of bleachers sort of behind him, where they couldn't see his face, and I don't know if security didn't want them back there or if people just didn't want to be behind him, they didn't stand in that strip against the wall. Look at the other picture. But it still looks like more than 2000. At least it wasn't 'hundreds' as one source said about one of Ron's multi thousand person crowds. I mean, it isn't FALSE if you add ENOUGH hundreds....
