Ron Paul attracts 2,000-plus to University of Rhode Island town hall meeting

it looks like lots of undecided voters, the people there do not have Paul t-shirts or signs which is a good sign.

Not at all half the people had shirts on and almost everyone had a sign. There signs were just down at this point.

this guy took some nice pictures of Ron and posted them in this thread:

It looks like from the picture it might be more, but I can't see if the whole gym is filled since you only see half. Generally he would be facing one grand stand rather than down the middle if both weren't full though. If they were I suspect 2000 is a low ball. The article was kinda snarky/clipped, with the 'trailing Romney' and the 'traveling WITH Callista' bits.

It was about 2000 this picture is decieving. Right where the picture ends the rest of the floor was empty you can see it gettin more spaced out at the far left side of the picture. I took pics like this too make the place look totally full. The bleachers were pretty much all full though.

Date issue fixed and pictures added, thanks! I could use more crowd pictures if you find them :)

Remember when the Philadelphia rally in November of 2007 drew about that many people, and we all thought it was Woodstock and the falling of the Berlin Wall combined?

Ron is drawing that many or more, every other day now.

As cynical and hard bitten as I am, I can't help but think that will do some good.

Just got back from this event. It was a great event. Lots of undecideds. I have some panorama video and snapshots to upload. There was definitely over 2000+ in attendance.

great crowd shot!! weird podium!! Love the steely glint in his eyes in the second picture of Ron!!

this should be more than 2000, maybe a few hundred more than that.

thank you for that one! So it WAS full all the way back. That is what I wasn't sure of. It sure looks like more than 2000 to me, since the bleachers on both sides were mostly full PLUS the crowd in the court....

they might have handed out signs though, hoping people would post them at their houses.

I was there. Came down from Boston. I gave out 6 or 7 signs to the people behind me. I hope that they can put them in their windows/yards before the RI primary. More useful than sitting at my place back in Boston!
