Ron Paul At U.C. Berkeley 4/5/12 Official Thread

He just asked the people to get Independents and Democrats to help out for a year!

Yes, He Did, isn't it absolutely great ? :)

I note that Berkeley allowed signs. At UCLA we all had to leave our signs behind and those that managed to sneak them in to the stadium got them confiscated.

When I came out to get my sign, all signs were gone. They said "someone took them all".

KerriAnn will have more pics and a little video tomorrow. Some pics were taken by her husband with a camera that will have to be downloaded. Hope he got some good shots.

I was there at the front row. Not as crazy as I expected, but maybe it wasn't to me because I heard him talk so many times (on the internet).

The reason signs were allowed was that the event was wide open, standing room only! Totally free and easy... no tickets required... just walk up and find a good spot!

I had a lot of quiet people around me, and i was near the middle. Ron Paul needs to do more of these if he can... there seemed to be a lot of people checking him out for the first time!

I made a lot of noise... my wife thought it was embarassing but I didnt let her shut me up this time! If anyone there heard a guy shouting "JUST COME HOME" when militarism was brought up, it was me.

Also, when Dr Paul said that if the Patriot act was renamed "The Repeal the Fourth Amendment Act" Congress wouldnt have voted for it... I shouted "THEY WOULD HAVE VOTED FOR THAT TOO"

Sure we lean far to the left out here in the bay, but we also love LIBERTY!!!

Now it's getting ridiculous...

The Mercury News is a far left rag. Don't expect anything honest from them when it comes to politics. I cancelled my subscription for that reason, and they finally stopped calling when I told them it would be a cold day in hell when I purchased their ultra-biased crap.

One of the best speeches I have heard from Dr. Paul. He puts himself in the White House a few times throughout the speech and seemed extra energized.

An interesting note about his speech was that when he discussed socialism and sharing wealth, he approached it from a very respectful point of view... that intentions are good and people are trying to help others.

yes! i thought that was very interesting. i don't think i've ever heard him approach it so carefully. maybe because the east bay is so liberal, he thought we would be more receptive to that message.
although in the end, intentions don't mean sh*t when everything is falling apart at the seams. :(

For me, one of the best points Paul made during his speech was that we should not be placing labels on anyone. Race, culture, etc... We are all just individuals who are entitled to the basic freedom to make our own choices. By placing labels on ourselves and others we are only limiting our power.
I think a lot of people forget that. We are all wrapped up in labels, but we forget we are all the same.
