thank you. I am still working on Chip In and the contract.
Go ahead and flame me. I expect a few thousand for this post.
But since no one is making this clear, I thought I would. If you still want to donate, great. But do so with your eyes open.
Heath at this point has no contract whatsoever in place. He has made it clear that perhaps this ad will end up on his shorts or maybe his t-shirt. If you have ever seen a fight you know that boxers do not wear t-shirts except perhaps, at the end of the fight for all their sponsors.
If the boxer is knocked out, then he never gets to wear that t-shirt.
You could be buying an ad that is two inches big on the bottom of a t-shirt that Mr. Jones Jr. wears at the ends of the fight.
According to paypal, this is all you are buying:
Contribution to Roy Jones Jr Fight Ad by Heath Whiteaker (
[email protected])
Technically, that could even mean an ad in a newspaper, although I certainly doubt that Heath would do that. I do not think that Heath is trying to hurt anyone, but he may not be aware of the tricks that lawyers play in writing contracts and how little he may actually be getting for the money.
That is why it is so important for us all to be able to read that contract so we can figure out exactly what we are buying or how little it could be.
For example, if it says 50k for an ad on the fighter's back, it could be one inch and that would satisfy the contract but no one on here.
Anyway, I have laid out the situation as I see it and why I am concerned.
Let the flame wars begin!
