Romney "Suspending" Campaign

Given the bad blood between McCain and Romney... do you think maybe, just maybe Mitt would deal with RP just to keep McCain out of the White House out of spite?

the conservative vote was going to Romney because they know McCain's a liberal. Now the only choice for them is Ron Paul, unless they get swindled by Huckabee.

This is good for us if suspends rather than drop out, right? But why would he do such a thing?

This is GOOD!

Then there were 3! I imagine most Romney supporters will turn to Huck and Paul! Conservatives HATE mccain.

NOW IT GETS INTERESTING! :D

Miit hates McCain and Huckabee. Why would he swing votes to McWar or Huckabee ?

Because he might hate McCain LESS than Huckabee.. and the writing on the wall says that Huck and McCain are going to get more votes.

If Mitt kingmakes now.. then Huck gets nothing out of this, and Mitt gets to be VP.

Just on Fox. Somebody from Time says that Romney will be dropping out today. Fox hasn't verified it, but the person from Time says it was triple confirmed.

BEST NEWS OF THE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With Romney out, fiscal conservatives will have no other option but to flock to Ron Paul!!!

look at that. He is 'suspending it' and not really dropping out. He knows most of his delegates are Ron Paul supporters.

Ha ha! Too funny!

:D

He won't do anything to hurt the republican party...expect an endorsement for McCain.

Unfortunately we'll never see Huckabee drop out. He is the fabricated "dark horse" long-shot candidate, "coming out of nowhere". They won't let Ron Paul get that title. Therefore, it will stay a 3 man race from now til the end.

People are going to vote based on "Who can win" we have learned this time and again. Now epople are going to think that McCain and mayyybe Hucka re the only two choices

I disagree.

He's suspending his campaign instead of ending it because he's likely reaching out to John McCain to see if he can be the VP.

Liberal (Mathematically, not politically) investments put a McCain/Romney ticket at a little under 1000 delegates.. making it all but impossible to catch them if they combined.

Check this out-- McCain is speaking at this conference next. What if Romney offers himself as a VP to McCain, and McCain accepts-- right before Ron Paul speaks? Everyone would leave the room.

Here is what CNN says about Delegates:

Suspending a campaign has a different meaning depending on the party.

On the Republican side, decisions on how to allocate delegates is left to the state parties.

On the Democratic side, a candidate who "suspends" is technically still a candidate so he or she keeps both district and statewide delegates won through primaries and caucuses. Superdelegates are always free to support any candidate at any time, whether the candidate drops out, suspends or stays in.

National party rules say that a candidate who "drops out" keeps any district-level delegates he or she has won so far but loses any statewide delegates he or she has won.

Are there any "Only one candidate can beat the Dems" flyers out there ?
