Romney "Suspending" Campaign

If you people think this is good for our chances to get the nomination, I will wait and see. Consider it in terms of the public opinion, however. They're already reporting that it is a 3-way race. If Romney is gone, they will report that it is a 2-way race.

I can see this playing out

The campaign just posted on it:

Looks like Mitt Romney is calling it quits. Ron Paul still stands as the real conservative alternative to John McCain. Romney had been competing fiercely for many of the same states as Dr. Paul. Romney’s voters are now up for grabs.

This goes to show once more the difference between a candidate driven by principle and one driven by ambition. It also shows how much you have achieved by supporting Ron Paul. He’s going the distance, when Romney, Giuliani, and Thompson have been worn down and drop out.

Has anyone noticed there is no link to an official source on this information?

I'm calling BS until I see a credible source. Enough of this rumor mill BS.

These people read our internet forums and got scared so they went to plan B trying to unit the Republican party under one banner.

People against McCain would have to then either vote for Huckabee or Paul. I wonder if enough Romney people would turn to McCain (though I'm doubting it cause any Romney supporters would hate McCain). Problem is media would more likely call it for McCain like they already have then give more time to Huckabee and Paul. What do you guys think?

So if Romney pulls out does this mean that we get his delegates (Montana) because we were behind him in 2nd? How does this work?

So now it's a Paul-Huckabee alliance against McCain?

I think that might be enough to keep McCain from getting the nomination, assuming some of Romney's delegates and supporters start coming our way. RP did well in most of the states Romney won, so, there should be a lot of support.

I agree they are making sure there will be no brokered convention..

If it were Huckabee we would get his voters as they would not vote for McCain the warmonger or Mitt the Morman...

We just got screwed out of that convention - I bet mitt got promised something if he would drop out!

We need to start push-polling now.

If you knew that McCain kills and eats a baby every day for breakfast, would you be more like to vote for McCain, less likely to vote for McCain, or about the same.

If Talk radio will get behind us we have a shot, I don't know that they will...... :( But hey it's all we got now. We have to hope Huck and Paul get many of Romney's votes, which could happen.

I just saw it on MSNBC.

I saw it first on TV.

"Breaking news, Mitt Romney is to drop out of the race, it is confirmed" yadayada

Romney has been constantly billed as the business man, economic expert candidate. Ron Paul should now be the focus of economic issues. McCain has been proven, by Ron Paul, what he knows of economic issues.
