RIP: Charlie Kirk Assassinated at Event in Utah

BAMN - "by any means necessary"

Believe them when they tell you.
Why is this so hard to understand?

Why do some of "our" folks insist on inventing convoluted conspiracies (that do nothing but cause FUD and prevent a proper response to an immediate threat) to explain what the Queer Race Communists have been fucking shouting from the rooftops for years now: "We're coming to kill you. We want you dead."

There has to be millions of examples of QRCs in just the last few days, saying some variation of: "Charlie Kirk eliminated, who do we kill next".

When they say they want you dead, when they say they will kill you: believe them when they say that.

The cancelation of leftist ghouls celebrating the murder of Charlie Kirk is a good thing. Free association goes hand-in-hand with free speech, and we can't have a functioning society if there's no social cost to lauding the murder of one's political opponents.

For years, the Left wielded cancel culture against the Right to stifle debate without cost. Now that they're glorifying the murder of the Right's most prominent peaceful debater, they're suffering a cost for doing so as the Right turns cancelation back against them. Ironically, in both cases, the Left is for censorship and the Right is for open debate.
I don't have any problem with people getting fired for what they say if it is likely to spill over on to the employer.

The creepy shift to a new woke right has appeared where I live in fly-over country where the local leftist teevee station is running two stories where they dox the people involved who have been shitcanned for their dead-charlie glee.

One was a manager at a new fast food restaurant and the other was a pubic skool art teacher.

This doxxing has a bad feel.

Both D and R lynch mobs leave the same ring around the collar.

I don't have any problem with it in general. I have never been opposed to so-called "cancel culture". I am critical of particular cases where I disagree with the cancellers and/or agree with the cancelled. (In this Kirk assassination case, I agree with the cancellers.)

Things like ostracism and reputational damage as tools of social regulation are far more desirable than state action/force.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say they are necessary for the maintenance of any healthy social order.

I agree with everything Michael Knowles said in one of my previous posts:

In the wake of Charlie's assassination, many people are demanding that we redouble our devotion to the "free marketplace of ideas." The call seems at first glance courageous and noble. In reality, it is reckless and impractical. We had an open marketplace of ideas; the Left shot it up.

Not only have extreme leftists committed violence in the marketplace of ideas; more scandalous still, mainstream left-wing voices have cheered and made light of the violence. There can be no open marketplace—of ideas or anything else—under such conditions.

Marketplaces require rules, confidence, and common media of exchange. They require, in other words, order. Liberty requires order. One cannot be both free and undisciplined, for instance, or free and ignorant. We know this philosophically, and we also know it intuitively. It's why we don't let toddlers vote.

What we require now is the reassertion of order. We must insist upon the acceptance of basic truths and moral goods, not as the asymptotic goal of endless debate but as the axiomatic foundation without which debate cannot occur. We must foreclose certain antisocial behaviors and suicidal ideologies. We must, to borrow a phrase from Chesterton, stop "the thought that stops thought."

In practical terms, this means we must stigmatize certain evil ideas and behaviors, and we must ostracize people who insist upon them. More practically, this means that people who persist in such disorder should lose their social standing. In certain cases, they should lose their jobs. There must be consequences.

With any political reform, it is wise to err on the side of caution. The offenses that merit such ostracism should be particularly egregious. A good place to begin would be with those who celebrate the murder of an innocent man.

new woke right

the local leftist teevee station

How do you square THAT circle? The local leftist TV station is setting up neon signs in front of the houses of people dancing on Charlie Kirk's grave in the hopes that some bumpkin yahoo will do something stupid... and that translates to "new woke right" how??

I understand that there are countless QRCs who have endorsed the use of force or violence against people whom they consider to be their (political) "adversaries".

And I suspect that there will be more incidents in the future.

Do I think Izrael was involved in the Annunciation Catholic Church shooting.

No.

But I do believe that Izrael played a role in the murder of Charlie Kirk.

At this early stage, it may be difficult to substantiate, despite the fact that Izrael has the means, motive and opportunity.

And depending on what our government chooses to disclose, we will probably be forced to speculate, as usual.

The official narrative regarding nearly every major event in our nation's history has either been a lie (based on declassified documents and admissions), or very difficult to believe, from the JFK assassination to 9/11.

Can someone explain, I keep seeing comments regarding the gunman "breaking down the firearm" only to reassemble it prior to disposing of it ?

Notice the subtext, here -- that if we stuck to just reason (no gods, bibles, angels, demons, etc.) and argued out these issues (wokism, transgenderism, etc.), the conclusions we would all reach would be the planks of the Woke zeitgeist. So, the "only way" to salvage the old, benighted bigotry of yore, is to "wrap it in the Bible" and hope that people will be too scared to criticize you for fear of seeming impious.

Putting faith and reason in opposition is the poison-pill, here. Blind faith at the expense of facts and reason is a caricature originally constructed by the theological liberals. The cultural left picked it up as a foil against conservatives, to bash them over the head with their "blind superstitions". And as the church in America has weakened its defense of the full Gospel, it has cowered to the theological liberals and the cultural left, and accepted that "yeah, we're superstitious and backwards, but we promise not to talk too loud, so leave us alone to our backwardness." These are the last few remaining gray heads in the mainline churches, the great-grandmas and grandpas who won't change their personal ways, but are too diplomatic to push back against their church being invaded and systematically hollowed out.

One solution is to take back America's churches, and I pray that God brings about a renovation of the American church, back to its mid-century strength and beyond.
