Republican Presidential Debate to Exclude Ron Paul

- Get names and addresses of those trying to silence the message of freedom and talk to those people on their front porch so they are fully aware of what they are doing

400 something Repubs and 125 independents

will decide in the Iowa poll if Ron gets in. Sadly, its all who conducts it and whom they call. No idea why they would not poll 1,000's other than to control numbers. Paul will never make 5 percent in national chamber of commerce rigged polls. In Iowa we should not accept a 4-6 hundred person poll at all. the campaign needs to issue a statement of action soon. ARG will report him at 3-4 percent, gauranteed.

QUOTE=James R;368352]I'd recommend to anyone who calls, to point out that Ron Paul scored about 10% of the vote at the Iowa Repubican Party Straw Poll. (the same Iowa Repubican Party that is hosting the debate)

Right on !! So far this is the only poll taken that has no margin of error, and we should point this fact out in any letters to the editor or press releases to the media.

The campaign should also send out the 12 page New Hampshire brochure right away to Iowa Republicans, and flood Iowa with ads. I liked the ad of a veteran-- I believe Bo Thompson was his name-- who told how Ron helped him get the war service medals he deserved. I think that ad would appeal to Iowa voters, and I think there is a PAC set up for contributions to running it.

Some ideas on what to do if If Fox and the Iowa GOP exclude Ron
- perhaps the Christian Broadcast Network would be interested in broadcasting a pro-life forum at the same time as the debate, inviting candidates who have never advocated abortion in their careers to address Iowa evangelicals

- have a freedom of speech concert and rally in Des Moines with performances by some well-known country music or popular singers. We would ask the singers not to endorse Ron, just to support his right to participation in the debate. Perhaps CMT or some other music network would broadcast the concert and rally
(I agree that Fox and the Iowa GOP as private organizations have the right to exclude Ron; however, given that Ron had nearly 10% of the vote in the Iowa Straw Poll, and will probably be the top Republican 4Q fund-raiser when the debate takes place, I think one can say they are arbitrarily excluding him.)

- refuse to participate in the Iowa caucuses and devote all our funds and efforts to New Hampshire. Raise a money bomb of $1 million or so for Operation Live Free or Die, which aims to put 1,000 volunteers (or 2,000 boots on the ground)on the ground in NH a month or so before the primaries. (I don't think this would be fair to the volunteers and Ron Paul organization in Iowa, however.)

- hold a money-bomb on the same day as the Fox-Iowa GOP debate and aim to double the November 5th total. The news from this achievement would swamp any news coverage of the debate, and Ron's exclusion from the debate would be a great talking point in our press releases. We could also sell the money-bomb as a way to protest Ron's exclusion. And perhaps during the Fox debate we could have a rally and counter telethon broadcasting the donation changes, interspersed with clips of great lines of Ron's speaking at previous debates and a speech by Ron at the end. Hold the rally/telethon in Des Moines. I imagine a local network would be interested.

FWIW these are just some brain-storms. I am sure all of you also have ideas, Could someone start a thread of suggestions about what to do if Ron is excluded, then we could choose some of the best ideas, vote on them, and be ready to take action after the Fox decision is announced. I like the protest money-bomb idea best. Would love to see Fox have egg all over its face.

Leslie, FWIW, I agree with many of your points. I'm just not sure how important the IA caucuses are, IF we can win NH and do well in the other early primaries. Is there a big enough ROI in IA? I'm afraid that the answer to these questions is way above my pay grade.

IF, however, someone who knows more about the true importance of the IA caucus thinks we can get around all of this by concentrating elsewhere, then I like your ideas--A LOT!

In case you didn't read thread titled "Ron Paul Radio NOW" Ron Paul will be in the Fox News Debate according to the Iowa HQ. They cannot eliminate us as we are a force to be reckoned with now.

Fox is a toxic asset.

It needs to fail.

What we are doing now is giving them a bailout that they don't deserve.

If the revolution had good organization, we would all rally around and begin boycotting fox news. It might seem ridiculous since the top cable programs are on Fox and our efforts may be fruitless...but a revolution is a struggle, and it will take years. Someone has to start it and who better than ron paul revolutionaries?

We're not bailing out FOX. We're taking advantage of an opportunity to spread our message to a bunch of FINALLY pissed off Americans. So, thank you FOX, for pulling them together for us. We do appreciate the help. ;)

wow, this was a random bump, but for good reason.

fox is a tool, and we have a toolbox.
use what you have stored.

Fuck Fox!

The problem is that it isn't organized. It is sooo hard to get a bunch of libertarians on the same page it isn't even funny. We mostly want the same thing but we all go about it differently. That's why things aren't appearing to get done; I'm not sure much is really getting done either.

But Faux does need to fail. They have lost a lot of their viewer ship recently and they know it, they are trying to regain their credibility with the masses and it is proving more difficult than they imagined. :D

We report, you decide ... just how full of shit we are!

Fair and balanced ... From Hitler's perspective!
