Recount Results

Sir Rhino, if Dennis would put up a place on his website to donate to the recount and a counter like we use of how much he needs, I think he might be surprised at how he could raise the money for the whole state.

I wonder if he is being pressured by his party. The whole state needs to be recounted.

Could you alert some of your Dem friends to this? I also contributed to him and I would contribute more if I knew it was going to the recount.
Molly - I know you must be very busy, but I suggest that you are the better person to get in touch than I am.

The Kucinich people don't know me ... I'm just another liberal ... but you are a knowledgeable part of the RP Supporters Sponsored NH Recount people. Your word may actually carry more weight.

I'm sure your time is valuable, but if you do what I did you'll probably get your message across very quickly.

Just be very up-front about who and what you are, why you're there, and what you want to share. Link to your counter and explain how helpful it has been to you in raising funds.

Just a thought.
:)

******************

As far as my Dem friends go ... it's rather amusing.

I honestly don't know any Kucinich supporters. It's not that he's disliked or disrespected or anything ... he's just not going to get the nomination.

Actually, at first my Dem friends thought the idea of election fraud in the primary was sour grapes on my part. You (and to a lesser extent I) have turned them around and they're presently watching to see what you come up with.

Sometimes ya just gotta have a sense of humor.
:D

Oh, and as far as giving money ... my friends are going to see the same thing you and I saw and wonder how much of their donation would go to the recount and how much would go to a Screw NBC campaign.

Molly,
It wasn't locked at the time, but this was the first of the boxes going in, so I don't know what happens from here. Sorry, I should have asked that question.

Fight,
Yeah, you could say they were wasted, but I see it as a protest. I know a girl in my town that did the same thing. She did not change to Republican in time, so all she could do was write in Ron Paul.

what is anyone going to do about this??????seriously people, are you all going to go to the streets with guns and demand all machines to be excluded from the polls in all the states???
why is bush still in the house when they found fraud in ohio???? .... nothing will get done about it....not a damn thing.....tell us how this is going to change other states????wishful thinking to believe things will get done through the court system before super tuesday.....what a joke.....

Elections Ain't No Joke

what a joke.....

You really think so?

"Ask yourself, what do you think Martin Luther King and those who worked for years in the civil rights movement would do? Would they stand by and let the fundamental right to equal treatment under the law and at the polls be taken away by a regime that wants to count their votes in secret? I think that Dr. King would be leading the effort to demand public vote counting. Some of his disciples are still around, but I haven’t heard their voices on this issue yet...

...George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, Sam Adams, John Adams, John Hancock, Patrick Henry, Thomas Paine, Paul Revere, Nathan Hale, and thousands of other brave Americans stood against the most powerful nation on Earth to fight tyranny and give us the opportunity to govern ourselves. Do you think that they would stand by and let our votes get counted in secret? I don’t think so. I think that they would take up arms if our leaders refused to restore public vote counts.

Anyone who has thought about this for a few minutes realizes that we can restore election integrity overnight. The vote can be cast on paper, placed in a ballot box in public view in each precinct, and counted in public in the precinct when the polls close. This can be done immediately with little need to add any more poll workers and with great savings on expensive, unreliable, and untrustworthy voting machines"...

This might have been posted already, but I didn't notice it when skimming the thread.

This was posted at the top of the page. Maybe this was a recent update.

How to read these results:
These results are from the DEMOCRATIC recount only. The towns listed below are the towns where the recount is complete. The set of numbers under the candidate(s) name reflect the number of votes reported to the Secretary of State's office after the January 8, 2008 Presidential Primary Election. The number to the right (under the column marked "recount") is the number of votes the candidate(s) received after the recount of votes in that town.

The republican candidates listed at the end of this tally (indicated by the r next to their name) are candidates who received WRITE-IN votes on democratic ballots

Is anyone paying attention to whether any county turned up more votes than the people who actually voted?

I wish you guys could have been on the conference call tonight. Lots of people are now working together from both parties to restore our vote. New Hampshire is only the beginning.

87 people were on the call listening in while they discussed it.

I liked that idea up above about just doing it, casting paper ballots and insisting that your ballot be counted by hand. Maybe the south carolina people need to push that as an option.

Advertise in the paper. Tell people to ask for paper ballots. Print them up yourselves. Count the ballots by hand after the polls are closed. It's their towns, they could just do it.

Show them the results coming out of New Hampshire. Hardly any two counts match up.

SC really sickens me. They got rid of those touch screen machines where I live after 18000 votes disappeared in a close congressional race.

Here's an interesting stat from the results so far. I only looked at votes that were counted by diebold (they might not all be diebold towns) with no backup ballots. This means the candidate lost votes in the recount because there was no ballot. So, either the ballot is now missing or the diebold is just counting on its own fingers. Total ballots missing, or votes counted where there is no ballot (these towns might not all be diebold), for the current recount is 181. How do you count 181 ballots that are not there? Or--if the ballots were there, where are they now?

There are 181 ballots missing.

In the words of the esteemed Henry Lee, "Sumting wong..."

EDIT: Apparently in Manchester ward 5 a clerk added together the vice president and president columns and called in the total vote as president. So total missing ballots now down to 33.

Hilary Clinton
Amherst counted 7 ballots that don't exist
Manchester ward 5 counted 64 ballots that don't exist

John Edwards
Manchester ward 5 counted 38 ballots that don't exist

Dennis Kucinich
Bedford counted 6 ballots that don't exist

Obama
Litchfield counted 1 ballot that doesn't exist
Manchester ward 2 counted 1 ballot that doesn't exist
Manchester ward 5 counted 39 ballots that don't exist
Manchester ward 8 counted 1 ballot that doesn't exist
Manchester ward 9 counted 3 ballots that don't exist

Richardson
Manchester ward 5 counted 7 ballots that don't exist
Merrimack counted 5 ballots that don't exist

Savior
Manchester ward 2 counted 1 ballot that doesn't exist (he only had 2 votes, that's 50% error)

Hunter
Manchester ward 7 counted 1 ballot that doesn't exist
Manchester ward 8 counted 1 ballot that doesn't exist
Manchester ward 12 counted 1 ballot that doesn't exist

Gravel
Manchester ward 9 counted 1 ballot that doesn't exist

Dodd
Manchester ward 2 counted 3 ballots that don't exist

Hewes
Manchester ward 11 counted 1 ballot that doesn't exist.

There are 181 (Edit: 33) ballots missing so far.

Sir Rhino, could you check your stats and see if the towns in my post above are all diebold?

I'm pretty sure Manchester is but I'm not sure about the smaller towns.

supposedly, they are not missing ballots, but rather the pollworkers there messed up on election day. Evidently there was a space on the ballot to write in VP choices, and in this ward they added those to the pres. totals.

The widest variations so far were in Manchester's Ward 5. Vote counters there mistakenly transposed write-in votes for vice president as votes for presidential candidate. As a result, all major candidates lost votes. Kucinich lost three in the ward and has a total of 20 votes there. Hillary Clinton lost 64 with a new total of 619; John Edwards lost 38 and has 217 votes; Barack Obama lost 39 and has 365, and Bill Richardson lost seven, leaving him 39.

What?

That doesn't even make sense.

64 people wrote in Hilary as vice president in a presidential primary?

So they got to vote twice?

Sir Rhino, is Manchester a diebold town?

Edit: I guess it was a clerical error. Manchester ward 5 added the vice president column and the president column together and called in the total vote as president. Don't ask me how that happens, but apparently that's what happened.

So missing ballots is down to 33 missing.
