Argh...
From the moment Ron Paul asked the question, I knew it was meant to trap McCain into showing his inadequacy on economic issues. McCain DID look like an idiot to us, but that's only because we
know that Paul is an expert on economics, and we
know he was calling out McCain for his ignorance (and yes, I did laugh...

). Unfortunately, as others have said, Paul did not properly frame it as an attack, explain its relevance or importance to the American people, or follow up on it to reinforce the fact that McCain didn't know how to answer.

This in my opinion was the weakest part of Paul's performance tonight - even if he asked the same thing, he could have made it far more effective than it was. If the question was for the establishment, media, and wall street, as someone has suggested, then it
was a wasted question, because we all know that those institutions will not change their opinion of Ron Paul no matter what, and being as they don't really care where America is headed, it won't detract from their support of McCain, either. Overall, I'd give this a 4...we know what Paul was going for, but he blew the opportunity to make it much more effective and obvious.
