fcreature, are you sure you should be posting that video?
Actually, you know what, I'll happily take this opportunity to engage a Cruz supporter. Let's see if you respond like all the rest of them. Please, convince me that I'm wrong about Cruz. I honestly would love to be convinced. At this point I'm very sour about the amount of money I gave him in his primary campaign (probably far before you've ever heard of the man) so your convincing me would make me feel much better about that.
Why should I support a candidate who has campaigned on, raised money on, and bragged about his support of Audit the Fed in the debates and then had the nerve to skip the vote. What kind of liberty candidate does this? And better yet, how can I accept his shitty excuse of having had prior engagements and knowing it would have failed anyway? Is that not the same excuse the establishment has been giving every time they've given Obama and the Democrats exactly what they have wanted? Does this have anything to do with his wife's employment, undisclosed loans, or the sheer amount of money and donations he (and his PACs) has received from banking institutions?
What about Cruz's shift in his position in regards to Snowden; once commending Snowden for what he has brought to public light and now calling him a "traitor". And yes, I know Rand thinks he should be tried but I haven't ever heard him call Snowden a traitor.
What kind of liberty candidate promises to bring an end to the Patriot Act, then votes for the Freedom Act. Cruz talked for years about the unconstitutional spying of US citizens via the NSA and then in a debate he says he supported giving the NSA the power to spy on 100% of American phone calls.
Do liberty candidates want to carpet bomb the entire middle east? Is that the solution to our problems in that region? Why did Cruz hire dozens of well known neocons, especially in regards to foreign policy, to run his campaign? Why has he gone so far right on this issue after hopping in the race?
How can I trust a man who has flip flopped on a variety of issues (regardless of whether it was towards the right or wrong side of the issue) including H1B Visas, Birthright Citizenship, Immigration, deportation, Syria, states rights in regards to marijuana, ethanol, criminal justice reform, etc. Which Ted Cruz do we believe? Is he really that consistent?
Was Cruz lying about his stances on immigration before with the supposed "poison pill amendments" or is he lying about it now? According to Cruz he was lying then. Either way, he is a very convincing liar. Go back and watch all the footage. Why should I support a candidate whom lying comes so easily to?
And finally, how do you excuse his despicable behavior in this nomination process thus far? His spreading false rumors behind closed doors, his borderline fraudulent mailers, and his campaign telling Carson supporters that he dropped out. Please don't tell me it was CNN's fault.
Go ahead, convince me.
