You're trying to save your argument but its not working.

This whole segment was concluded by speculation, read it again carefully.

And I carefully indicated that speculation didn't hold up, considering all the big-government, pro-war fat cats are donating as usual, but the anti-war libertarian-leaning ones (by reputation) have not committed. That means the other arguments speculated about in the story are not working, not the one I posed. The Thiels of this world are being pressured behind the scenes (through establishment connections they have made) into not donating.
