Let's see; 90% of the toilet paper consumed in the US is manufactured in the US. But 30-40% of the soft pulp used comes from places like Canada and Brazil. The US manufacturing lines are actually tuned to use those specific soft pulp products from those specific countries. What's more, that soft pulp is overwhelmingly in the form of by-products (chips) from normal lumber production; so if normal lumber production is impacted then there's going to be a lot less of those by-products. I think I may need to get out to WalMart today, and stock up on things like that
