Rand Paul: Trump is a "Chameleon"

He can live in la la land after Donald Trump picked up the baton that he wanted no part of. So be it. Now Trump is atop the polls with that baton. A huge miscalculation I might add.

What baton is that? The one Ron Paul lost while carrying? With the same percentage of the electorate, but in a less crowded field, I might add? You think you people of the 'Let the country burn!!' crowd can grow that number as the others drop out?

Well, you're the only one. The rest of us paid attention the last two cycles. 'Let it burn' is not a message that can be sold. No matter how much you spam the forums blathering about how you like it.

Donald Trump speaks up against the globalists, while Rand plays footsies with Silicon Valley and the Chamber of Commerce. The proof is in the pudding.

Rand Paul gets money from the last capitalists in the nation while Donald Trump speaks out against the very thing he is in hopes that he can fool people like you into thinking he isn't.

And we tell you the truth, but you don't believe us and do believe Fox, even as you brag about how rebellious you are for siding with Trump against Kelly and Fox. Just like Fox told you to do.

If you want people to congratulate you for standing for nothing and falling for this tripe, you're in the wrong place. All we have to say is this:

Projection.

Listen, there is 0% chance that Trump will win the general election so this won't matter anyway, but let's say he did... Do you think for one second he would follow the Constitution?! He would be Obama X 10.

Rand made deals with Silicon Valley industrialists and the CoC. It's pretty much fact. That's one of the reasons he's so gung ho about more H1-B visas.

Rand may as well have been as vocal as Trump on immigration since all that Silicon Valley money went to Cruz anyway.

Cruz of course is the biggest hypocrite on immigration proposing a %500 increase on H1B immigration. This is something you never hear from FNC and the establishment. Thus they are giving Cruz cover with the average Republican voter falling for it so they will pick Cruz over Rand.

Ah. You mean he wants to increase tariffs? Small government and all that.

Cruz is bad as well and is trying to position himself as the recipient of Trump votes.

I didn't say it's over. Rand is right about Trump being a chamaleon, but Rand had more than plenty of opportunities to siphon that support away. So it really comes off as crying to me. Donald Trump understands the frustrations of the common people better than Rand and capitalized on it. Thus, he is the better politician. Rand should tip his cap as opposed to being irritated by it. Rand could have picked up the gold coin but willfully walked past it.
How long has this Trumpmania been going on? He only just made those "inflammatory" immigration remarks on June 16, according to this article (ironically from the FoxNews website:)

Trump first made his inflammatory remarks during his non-scripted, June 16 presidential announcement speech.

Before June 16, Rand was the front-runner for the previous 3 years! If you ask people what they like(d) about Donald Trump, you get answers like they like the way he's shaking things up, sticking it to the media, daring to say what no one else will say, taking down the idiotic PC agenda, etc. But does that mean they really want him for their president?? I don't think so. They really do know he can't just walk into the Oval Office and point his finger at someone and yell "You're Fired!" to get things done. And since that's not the way it works, I don't even really believe he wants the job. I'll bet he's as surprised as anyone else to find himself in this position and can't wait for it to be over. All he wanted to do is stroke his massive ego....and he's getting to do that in a big way right now, but it would be a step down (in a way) for Trump to be president. Be patient.

Ah. You mean he wants to increase tariffs? Small government and all that.

Tariffs on countries not willing to open their markets reciprocally.

Let's say you're right. Let's say it's over for Rand (ridiculous...there's 6 months to go before Iowa, but let's play this silly game.)

Why in the world would you be cheering over this? Look, everyone knows I wish Rand was more like his father than he is....do you think Donald Trump moves closer to Ron or further away? Duh!

Does that matter to you anymore, or has this become just a game?

It's just a game for a few on this board. It's getting quite annoying.

You mean legal immigration? I thought most libertarians favor more legal immigration to reduce illegal immigration.

Re: TRUMP Don't know. I honestly don't know. He could be devil or angel.
Yes you do. You can't be projecting that much onto the guy.

I love it. I LOVE IT. If Trump can Flip-flop on EVERY issue and still win this nomination, then America has not learned anything from 2012. This would be coming at some point, and Rand is leading the fight. We won't be ignored and that is a good thing. Keep inspiring the base baby.

Any candidate that attacks Trump doesn't get it. Trump's rise to the top of the polls is not about Trump, it is about Rand, the other GOP Candidates, and the GOP Leadership. Instead of nit picking Trump's policy flip flops (newsflash- his supporters don't care) Rand should be focusing on figuring out what it is about his campaign that has transformed him from one of the most popular Republicans in the country and GOP front runner in to single digit status in the polls. If Rand does that, maybe he has a chance. But lashing out at Trump is counterproductive and does nothing to address the real problem.

Exactly. He doesn't get it or refuses to. Trump sucks, but then why did you let him steal your voters? If Trump is as bad and phony as you say, then what does it say about you?? It's an indictment on the crap campaign he has run.

Trump stated at the debate that Canada's healthcare was working... Yea I would attack him for that. People actually do care that the man supported partial birth abortions. People do care that he would give Hillary the election. Rand needs to avoid being blacked out. Cruz and Walker have been blacked out so far. No one really cared about them after the debate. That is what sinks poll numbers.

You're wrong. There are cracks in the dam. People are started getting annoyed by Trump's childishness. I've seen it on the Blaze. It's time to bring him down. If Rand leads on this and shows Trump for what he is and presents his own message just right he can come away looking good.
