Rand Paul: Trump a 'fake conservative'

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) in an interview Sunday called Donald Trump, who refused to rule out a third-party run during the first GOP debate, a “fake conservative."

Paul said on "Fox News Sunday" that Trump has "been for all these liberal policies and now because he can stand up and say vulgar things and he’s a truth teller. Well the truth is, what is he for?"

“I don’t think we should reward vulgarity and I don’t think vulgarity equates to insight,” Paul added. “Because you can shout and call people names and call someone 'stupid; or call someone 'fat' is that really what we’re going to make the decision on for who’s going to be our nominee?”

“I have no idea what his real philosophy is other than that he is for promoting himself,” Paul said.

Good stuff, but they left out the best part of Rand's comments.

He specifically mentioned Trump's support for socialized medicine and the 2008 bailouts, and how this contradicts the original purpose of the tea party.

Trump cant be bought by big business because he is big business. Immigrants aren't taking over the country, we are a country of immigrants. Corporations are taking over, and trump is the ultimate evolution of a business controlling the country.

Trump is an Obama hugger because he praised Obama for the bail outs and slammed Bush for Iraq and he united the country against republicans by calling Obama a foreigner.

To the conservative base, I'd say yes.

Rand is right.. Trump is more of a business-minded, opportunistic Republican and is not really a conservative. But neither are 95% of GOP candidates in current lineup conservative.

On one very importrant issue, Trump is heads above shoulders more "conservative" than most of GOP.
