This I think could actually pay off. To me, pandering on issues with Israel, Iran deal, Confederate flag, etc. to me is dangerous to the message. But while you might turn some people off with playing the mudslinging game, at least you get your name in the news. I would rather Rand go streaking and do nonsense like "stoop to Trumps level" than change the liberty message.

It's a mistake to go after Trump. I see Rand accused of being "establishment" all the time by precisely the voters he needs to win. Many of these people will eventually see through Trump, but they may never forgive Paul for being on "the other side."
