Rand Paul on Wolf Blitzer CNN 4:30 pm ET (12/9) - Official Thread.

Kind of surprised that, since Ron gets hammered by many here when he says "I have no plans to do so," "I don't want to run third party," etc for not answering forcefully enough, that Rand hasn't been criticized for his answer.

This notion that Rand is some wily master who never puts his foot in his mouth whereas Ron is a bumbling fool is a perplexing falsehood.

Rand's time will come, let's just be damn glad that we've got somebody like him on our side.

I really wish Ron and Rand would just call these bastards out, just say it "No these candidates are not conservative, they are big government Wilsonian liberals and i cannot and will not support them if they are the nominee out of principle and commitment to the US Constitution and the American people"

Ron says that, but he puts it more nicely.

Rand is already on record as stating he will support the Republican nominee.

Great piece at 5:00 on Ron Paul. Did you see Steve Deace in Iowa saying that Ron Paul's numbers are probably even stronger?!

Even when they discussed Ron Paul's most unconventional positions it wasn't really an unfair analysis in my opinion. Talked about eliminating departments, legalizing marijuana, etc.

Candy Crowley even mentioning that Ron Paul turned down (then Wold said smacked down) Donald Trump first!

I had a dream way back that Ron would pass the torch and we would have a winner. Rand is more polished and has the teflon Don thing going where nothing sticks compared to Ron. Who knows, maybe they combine forces
on a third party ticket. My dream ticket.

Damn. Rand was dwarf throwing that little bastard from one end of the room to the other...

metaphorically speaking of course.

nice job Rand.

I want a tube of not only Rand Paul's appearance, but the spot on Ron Paul at the 5:00 intro. It was pretty darn good!

I just can't see how any of those tea party voters could watch that and still support the grinch. Rand was brutally honest.

I think just this one interview cost Newt about two percentage points, with a multiplier effect to follow. Not to mention everyone else that is chiming in across the land.

Imagine when the Republican race becomes a two-man race between Romney and Paul. Can you imagine the body slams that Ron will have to take on a regular basis? All of the interviews where people drone on for minutes about how Ron Paul is a terrible candidate? It could get ugly.

Rand defended his dad well here. The one thing Ron and Rand excel at is never creating needless drama. The media constantly tries to get them to choose sides, or fling shit at someone and they wont ever take the bait, because they are better than that.

However, the one thing that did bother me about Ron when he was on Cavuto a few days ago, is he asked Ron if he would ever support Newt, and Ron was like [paraphrasing] 'Ehhhhh well...i mean, he seems to be kinda changing a bit to how i see things....he did talk about the Fed needing an audit and some other things, sooooooooo...if he were to change and be serious about that i would definitely think about it'. I mean, cmon now  Ron knows deep down that Newt is a spineless bastard and goes against 95% of everything he stands for, so why not just be honest about it and say something like Peter King did recently. I hated seeing that, because it's almost as if it was some 'technical endorsement' or something, for a guy everyone here can't stand the sight of, and who Ron really doesn't like at all.

Ron also knows that Newt was the guy who tried to kick Ron out of congress back in 1997 when he came back from his medical practice hiatus. Newt tried all he could to keep Ron winning his seat back and was getting many house members to side with his opponent. He even got G. HW Bush to help rally against Ron (which is funny, because HW didnt have many good things to say about Newt some time after that lol). He did this because he knows Ron is a true constitutionalist who goes against Newts fucked up agendas and plans. It didnt work though, Ron still won. I am certain Ron knows all of that too, so when he kinda talks nicey nice about Newt it just really irks me a bit.

Jesus. If Rand stays clean, how in the hell won't he be president some day?

Yep...He is following his dads approach, so no matter what Ron does here, we have an excellent back up plan in the future. Rand can use all this time to build up a great reputation in the Senate and one day run for potus himself.
