Rand Paul filibusters Patriot Act renewal and yields floor after 10.5 hours - Official thread

It was Rand's request: "Join in with the action today by sending in a picture of yourself watching the filibuster in the medium of your choice. Post the image below or use the #standwithrand hashtag on Twitter or Instagram. We'll highlight as many as we can."

Oh cool.

And the haters are out on Twitter...

I checked her twitter... Also doesn't like that Rand supported the arab spring and is against global warming. Hates that David Letterman retiring is getting so much air time but then has multiple messages about the ending of Mad Men.

10K other nutters following her, weird.

Oh no....

Is that a "thing" now? TV selfies?

You must be kidding dude, it takes stuff like this to make the movement cool, that there are actually people, cool people, young people, people of all types interested in these topics.

I just did the selfie with the hashtag myself after I saw that Rand asked for it.

I've seen no coverage of this at all on the cable news networks. Apparently the black out continues.

I was gonna start something but looking at the volume of her support, it's just not worth it. Kicking over that rock is more likely to just give her more exposure than she rates.

Rand just talked about the guy who was sent to jail for 10 years for violating an EPA regulation for digging around on his land. He said something along the lines of "In fact, the guy who did that (sent the old man to jail) should go to jail for doing that. In fact he should be publicly flogged and made to pay penance for that."

I love when Rand goes all "Stream of consciousness" on the Senate floor and is blunt as hell about anything and everything the government does wrong.
