Rachel Maddow: Ron Paul may leave behind outsider status on way to Tampa

You guys are just like the mainstream repubs hating on democrats for no good reason, this girl has always been on the side of liberty, it's just she has never had a real side to choose because of all the convoluted shit that happens in each party, so HER closest allies were the democrats. Now that she has people who share some of her beliefs she is "cautiously optimistic" as she says for the ron paul crowd... and speaking for democrats that's the same boat I'm in. So keep alienating her, you are only pushing yourselves further and further into the loony bin.

Well if you consider the fact that she would like to see gay marriage legalized in EVERY state, then she would have reason to talk about REPUBLICANS who SUPPORT her cause.

She has also written an anti-war book recently which is also something we agree with on her end. Is she a Ron Paul supporter? No. I don't believe she ever said she was. She just happens to have more in common with the "Ron Paul Republicans" then the establishment Republicans.

I don't know how I got put in a position of defending her but let's be honest here. Aside from Ben Swann and maybe Jon Stewart, who else on television is talking about Ron Paul these days?

She's definitely not one of us but at the moment she's not our enemy either. What was the saying? The enemy of my enemy is....

Really?? Go watch her Rand interrogation...err interview.

Notice in that last one, he made a point by saying he represented the real Republican Party and it's oath. She then made a point of distinguishing real Republicans from 'mainline Republicans'.

Like her or not, stories like this are turning people on to the message that would otherwise be voting for Obama or anyone named Clinton.

LOL... Yeah, she's all about individual liberty, that one.

What’s the Matter with Rachel Maddow?
The MSNBC host champions bureaucratic power at the expense of regular people and their rights.

Progressives today say people should come before profits. Now in a privilege-ridden corporate state, that’s a worthy goal, though progressives have no clue how to achieve it. How nice it would be if they were equally committed to putting people before bureaucracy. Here they fall down rather badly because their signature ideas would subordinate regular people to the dictates of the power structure.

Take MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. Maddow is intelligent, serious, and well-meaning—which makes her vision all the more unsettling: It has ominous implications not only for individual liberty, but also for its concomitant: authentic spontaneous social cooperation.

Maddow might say that if she had her way, the bureaucracy would reflect the people’s interests, perhaps even consult them from time to time. But the naiveté of that vision is apparent from even a brief reading of political-economic history. When has bureaucracy actually represented—or cared about—plain people rather than being a tool of the power elite she claims to abhor (at least when Republicans hold some branch of government)?

Does that sound like "she's on the side of liberty?" She's a collectivist shill and hack. Sailingaway has her number. She's only reporting it to make the GOP look bad (which is fine with me!).

So keep alienating her, you are only pushing yourselves further and further into the loony bin.

LOL... This implies we're in the loony bin now. I'm also not sure how alienating her pushes us further in but, whatever you say! Who am I to argue? I'm nuts!

I've heard about this interrogation... I mean interview but I have yet to see it. I'll definitely check it out tonight (can't watch it at work) and give my feedback.

Again, like I said in the my post that you quoted, she is definitely NOT ONE OF US. She is also not our enemy. I'm sure you're one of those people who would rather not have her say anything about Ron Paul at all and have this weekend go by without a peep but I disagree.

She has one of the top rated shows on her network. Through her show, She is spreading our message by giving us airtime. She reaches people who do not check Ronpaulforum or the DailyPaul every day like we do.

The GOP in Nebraska this weekend now will have to try harder to cheat because of the publicity that SHE has brought.

that was a great segment.

Where are the self-proclaimed "conservative" pundit voices who should be screaming about this outrage from the rooftops?

???

What does "liberty" mean to you?

That is the real question.

Unfortunately, I think we all really know the answer.

She's trolling, just trying to help Obama.

If the only candidates for President were Ron Paul and Mitt Romney, she'd vote for Romney.

Since the Judge has been off Fox, she, except for a few pieces by Cavuto, is the only MSM person not ignoring Ron Paul. Who cares what her motivation is...damn, can't you folks take it for what it is? It are a net positive for us. I ain't gonna whine about her ideological purity....I'm just happy RP is not being COMPLETELY ignored in the media.

I find that unlikely, unless of course if you're saying Obama and Romney are essentially the same person. I'd agree there.

They are all in the kitchen, busy mixing up another batch of Kool-Aid with a healthy dose of Romney-can-and-will-beat-Obama-so-let's-all-vote-Romney. (They distill this ingredient from male cow patties.)

I agree. +Rep

And judging by the strong anti-war portion of her ideology, I'm guessing her motivation is not entirely just to make the GOP look bad. She probably agrees with RP on more things than she agrees with Obama on, if she is honest with herself. Obama is the worst president on civil liberties we've had in a very long time. (That's why I'm here myself, come to think of it...)

At the very least I'm sure the thought of a Romney presidency is nauseating to Maddow, and for that reason alone I think she'd love to see RP get the GOP nomination instead, even if she wouldn't vote for him. (And I'm not even sure about that, to be honest. Depends how smart she is.)
