First time I've ever seen this. Priceless!

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”
~ Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006

now what would take the cake would be for that speechwriter to have consulted Krugman before typing it up

I bet he voted to raise the ceiling though.

Seems as if Obama votes for bad legislation but then likes to tell everyone why the vote he just made is bad. As with the NDAA.

When it comes to a one-on-one fight against Romney, I think Ron should stress this and how he's the only one who really has a plan to deal with the debt.

Then say something like this: "as Obama himself would agree, Ron Paul is the only true leader in this race!"

When Ron debates Obama and the topic of debt ceiling comes up, he should say that quote verbatim, and then tell the public who originally said it.

hmm.obama always has the krugmanesque weasel line available if anyone quotes him from 2006.
"but that was in 2006,right now we are in a liquidity trap recession and we cant cut spending". in his bizzaro world,it all makes sense

When you read that, keep in mind the "What if" video by Judge Napolitano that was posted here the other day....BO was campaigning when he made that statement. It all changes once they're elected.

As I see it, most governments and their leaders are surrogates for the International Banker Cartel (IBC) of the world. It is the intention of this cartel to make sure that their financial interests are protected at all costs. Thus the certainty of bailouts of Greece, Italy, Ireland, Spain, etc. Whatever happens the IBC will make sure that they and their members do not lose. We saw this in the TARP bailout in our country. Do not be surprised that in 10 years these parasites will be lining up to dictate financial terms to the U.S. so that the dollar can be saved from a manufactured collapse. The only chance we have to stop this is to elect someone like Ron Paul as President who has not been co-opted by this group. In order to do this we will have to prevail against the IBC stooges represented by the mainline media and other groups they control. It's going to be a hard road but truth has a way of outing if held up by enough people. In this election the most obvious IBC stooge is Mitt Romney. One has to go no further than look at his main contributors (large financial institutions) to see how obvious this is. Mitt Romney is just the other side of the coin of Barack Obama. Whichever side comes up in the coin-flip the IBC wins. Ron Paul is his own coin and that coin is GOLD!
