This would be my question if I ever got the chance to ask one at a debate. It could be something similar, with sentences removed taking 20-30 seconds. Ron Paul would definitely hit a home run. Best of luck to the other candidates.

"The most important thing to me in a president is not his policies. There's a history of candidates saying one thing and doing another once they took office...I doubt most of you would change that. It doesn't matter what you claim if you don't truly mean it. Please be honest and answer my question with substance and without dodging, or I'm sure you'll be hearing from the audience. My most basic question is...How can we trust you?"

Please edit and improve anything you can to make it better. Taking out the "I doubt most of you would change that" bit would remove the obvious Ron Paul bias and probably be more likely to be accepted. I just wanted to post it somewhere before it's too late. If you think it's good, please spread it among supporters and Tweet/email the debate moderator if they take audience questions.

I'm working on another thread to place my other ideas.

Welcome to the forums. It is obvious Ron Paul can be trusted, just look at his track record. The other candidates don't have a truthful cell in their bodies. Ron Paul is a guy who has rarely changed his views on anything.

Personally I think any question that ousts the appearance of moralities and ethics from the three establishment GOP candidates and reveals their true nature is a good question. I don't think you should change anything -- it's already very hard-hitting and succinct, while at the same time I (and most Americans) can relate to it.

I think it's essentially the same thing to ask, "Why are you a conservative/Republican?" To me that says pretty much everything about a candidate, assuming they answer honestly. I'm sure none would say it's because they couldn't get on the Democratic ballot.

You have all touted the drastic need for a balanced budget. Where do you plan on cutting over a trillion dollars from to balance the budget?

Thanks for the welcome and the supportive thoughts.

More people don't think this would be a good question? I feel like it would be perfect for Ron Paul to show his character with his consistency while exposing the others. Particularly to undecided voters and those that don't normally follow politics. At least they know they'd be voting for a good person. It also implies that the audience should boo if they think someone is dodging it. With an emphasis on "How can we trust YOU" I doubt they'd risk going off topic or bashing Obama.

I'm not going to be able to ask this unless they create a debate near California and this is pretty much the last one. Could anyone help me to tweet and email the CNN debate for tonight? They're taking questions from the viewers.

It's a great question. And I'm sure you'll get more responses. It's early :) Welcome to the forums!

Here is my wording:

Its the stereotype that politicians can't be trusted, especially on campaign promises. Given that, why can we trust you?

I like the question. I'd answer it like, "You can't trust any politician. The best you can do is look at their track record. I have a record of trusting YOU. The rest of these guys have a record of trusting government."
