This would be my question if I ever got the chance to ask one at a debate. It could be something similar, with sentences removed taking 20-30 seconds. Ron Paul would definitely hit a home run. Best of luck to the other candidates.
"The most important thing to me in a president is not his policies. There's a history of candidates saying one thing and doing another once they took office...I doubt most of you would change that. It doesn't matter what you claim if you don't truly mean it. Please be honest and answer my question with substance and without dodging, or I'm sure you'll be hearing from the audience. My most basic question is...How can we trust you?"
Please edit and improve anything you can to make it better. Taking out the "I doubt most of you would change that" bit would remove the obvious Ron Paul bias and probably be more likely to be accepted. I just wanted to post it somewhere before it's too late. If you think it's good, please spread it among supporters and Tweet/email the debate moderator if they take audience questions.
I'm working on another thread to place my other ideas.
