Proof Of God Thread.

I'm not making a demand, I'm making a request that people prove the existence of god. SO far so good.

I already stated it's not for me to prove a negative.

It's just as silly to request something that can not be given.

Such a worn out argument. Christians always call that the "feeling of God within" is proof enough. This feeling, however, is noticed in every religion (dharmic religions have specific words for these feelings). This is one of the main reason religion still exists today- the feeling the "user" receives.

I called it experience, not feeing - the existance of these same experiences in other religions supports the argument that they are real.

Great point seeing so may state they have a personal relationship with a god.

Then when random acts occur that are favorable to someone they sometimes suggest that god helped them score that touchdown. How so if god only works in the metaphysical world? More BS

You do more to discredit any possible divine than you do to credit it.
Thomas didn't have to "hear" god in some special "mental/spiritual" way.
The voices in your head isn't god. Its you. It comes from you. It originates from you. In your brain. No outside stimulus.
If God LOOOOOOOOOOOVES me so much, how much effort would it be to call or write?
I'd give him my every second in devotion for something so little.
But it isn't going to happen. No flash of light, No burning bush- nothing.
Maybe LSD could send me to another world, but it is still all in my head.

As George Carlin stated, he prayed to the Sun and his prayers are answered on the same 50/50 basis- plus he can actually see the Sun, and it provides a benefit to his life.

I'm not trying to convert you or insult you. I'm simply trying to answer the questions you asked. If you are so easily offended perhaps you have some "issues" in this area.

I guess one tribe of humans can "hear" god better than the other.

That has not been my experience. I find that I generally have much in common with people who are Spiritually oriented, regardless of religion.

Also, the Word (that which eminates from God) is unique to the experience and need of the individual, most Spiritual people make no claims to superiority. The joy is in sharing.

They are make-believe if you cannot replicate it in any fashion that can be recording or observed with any sense.
Otherwise, it is just in your head. And I'm sure it is very real to you- I have dreams that seem very real too-
How do I know they aren't real? Because nothing has changed in the world around me by them.

If God wants to be hidden and unknown- he is doing a great job of it.

Why would he give you a brain to reason only to ask you to abandon all reason to believe in him? He'd been better off making us retarded.
I'm not saying there isn't a god. I'm saying there isn't a god that wants to know me.
I'm open, but no one is calling. Even "in my head".
