Project NHRECOUNT - Bump for Liberty

I was formerly a huge cynic about any notion of "rigged" elections, even as a Paul supporter. However, I've looked at the evidence, physical documents that show that the hand counted votes vs the diebold votes are way off.

In fact, Paul beats Guiliani in the hand count, and may very well have gotten third. In both IOWA AND NEW HAMPSHIRE!

However, this recount is only for NH, because the deadline is up for Iowa.

Unfortunately, it costs around $65,000 dollars for a recount in NH. But the granny warriors are raising money! Pitch in so we can get the recount, but you must be quick, as the deadline for a recount is FAST approaching.

Bump.

The RP campaign is waiting for grassroots show of support on this before they'll get behind it.

NH Primary Candidate Mr. Howard is ready to fly to NH to file for recount (but not sure if this will only be for him - very expensive per Molly post, or all candidates). Need clarification on this.

Either way, donate now or it will only get worse in upcoming elections.

Here's what I've figured out about recount so far:

DEADLINE FOR FILING FOR A RECOUNT: FIVE O'CLOCK TOMORROW, FRIDAY, JAN 11, 2008

THE COST WILL DEPEND ON THE CANDIDATE FILING.

IT WILL COST MORE IF THE CANDIDATE GOT LESS VOTES

THEY WILL KNOW THE COST FOR EVERY CANDIDATE BY CANDIDATE LATER TODAY

IF A RECOUNT IS REQUESTED THEY WILL RECOUNT ALL THE VOTES FOR ALL CANDIDATES IN THAT PARTY

What I think we really need is a recount of both parties. What if votes are being siphoned off both sides electronically? That means a candidate from each party has to request it. Any candidate on the ballot can request it, but the less votes you got, the more it will cost. Call Kucinich{/b] or Mike Gravel for democratic side recount.

You know we're on target when the disinfo is hitting on all sides/threads...

(Stay focused on raising the grassroots support and demand the recount - Sunshine Patriots and Summer Soldiers will follow).

No, they need to be challenged to set up their own fund if they haven't already, that's why I've been looking for a good Obama forum to post one in...know of any?
Someone here said the Obama supporters interact mostly on Facebook. And I won't be registering there.

Does anyone even know if they're in any way interested in the recount??

Mr. Dennis Kucinich has stepped up to the plate, so the Dem votes are covered. History is now being made, the way it should be...

Any hard facts on Republican side recount request SOS filing yet? I've heard ALOT of rumblings in the RIGHT direction, thank God.

Pros and Cons of a NH Recount

Posted January 10th, 2008 by manystrom

First, let's begin with this quote from Noam Chomsky:

The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum - even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate.

Let's expand the range of debate by discussing the pros and cons of a New Hampshire recount, and then give your opinion about whether you'd like to see a recount or not. As for me, I've heard that a recount would cost $65,000. As another supporter put it to me, "that's chump change" for the campaign. It would amount to something like .50 for each of the people who contributed. Let's see...I maxed out my donation, so I'd be happy to see .50 of that go towards a recount.

I've heard some people say we should "drop it" and continue to work because it makes us looks like we're wearing "tin foil hats," and it will only hurt our chances and make us look bad in future states.

My response is:

1) What is the point of "dropping it" and continuing to work if we have no confidence that the votes are being counted properly? This is not just an issue for this campaign, but for the future of America.

2) The people who are wearing "tin foil hats" are those who believe in black box voting. Anyone who believes that the new American way is to surrender your vote to a computer with no paper trail, no possible way of being audited, and plenty of ways of being hacked simply isn't thinking properly. Reagan said, "trust, but verify." Can we please verify?

3) If the best we can muster is 8% in the "Live Free or Die" state where so much of the campaign's resources went and where we had the best chance of scoring big, then it is pretty hard for me to believe that we'll do much better than that in any other states. In order words, there is very little to lose. Furthermore, some of the best battles are won by those with little to lose.

I have read about the various irregularities that took place yesterday, and I have long read about those terrible Diebold machines. Personally, I'd like to see a recount, or some type of investigation into the irregularities.

That is what I believe. I'd like to hear what others believe, pro or con. Finally, I don't know whether the above quote is really Chomsky or not. I found it on the internet and it rings true whether he said it or not. The point is: think everything over for yourself, come to your own conclusions and act accordingly.

Man plans recount of Republican vote in N.H. primary

January 10, 2008

Albert Howard, would-be presidential contender from Ann Arbor, said today he has discussed a recount of the Republican vote in Tuesday’s primary in New Hampshire with the secretary of state’s office, and plans to fly to New Hampshire by the end of the day Friday to pay the required fee and start the recount.

Howard, one of 42 so-called minor candidates in the primary, received 44 votes in the primary, according to the official tally. But at one point during the night’s vote counting, Howard said his tally was over 170 votes, making him wonder what happened.

Howard said today that he discussed his recount request with William Gardner, the secretary of state. Howard must pay a $2,000 fee to start the recount process, but the costs could be much higher, he said. He must pay all the associated costs, which includes police who would go with the ballot counters to each county. “I’ve got backers who will pay the costs,” Howard said.

Gardner was not immediately available today. A secretary said Howard must pay the fee and make his formal request tomorrow by 5 p.m. to trigger the recount. The recount would be of every candidate on the Republican ballot, not just the votes cast for Howard, she said.

Howard, a chauffeur for Checker Sedan and father of eight, paid $1,000 to be on the New Hampshire ballot as a Republican presidential candidate. He is not on the ballot in any other states, most of which, like Michigan, require petitions signed by several thousand voters to get a candidate’s name on the ballot.
