Pro-Israel Voices Blast RNC's Hire Of Paul Staffer (Gary Howard)

So, politicians should repudiate their foreign friends? Romney and Netanyahu worked together and became friends decades before any of them entered politics.

Romney has shown absolutely no evidence that he won't be influenced by outside forces, such as pals like Netanyahu who have very, very deep pockets and influence in American politics.

So yes, he should repudiate his foreign friend, in this case. His foreign friend is detrimental to this country.

I don't think it is. If you believe in 'global citizenship' and such, and no borders, I can see where you'd say us doing things for various countries that hurt us financially and or politically is 'redistribution' or some such, but if you believe a sovereign nation and its head are supposed to be protecting its own interests and those of its people, including the solvency of its domestic programs and/or domestic economy, then it becomes puzzling.

But how's that related to someone having foreign friends? Are you suggesting people with foreign friends are more prone to believe in global citizenship?

I completely disagree.

What kind of man would repudiate a long-life friend because he's a foreigner and a fellow politician? Certainly not the kind I'd respect or even dream of voting for.

No, I'm not really in the foreign friends discussion. I am in the discussion of why progressive alliance people are sure their words against RNC staff decisions would resonate just by invoking a foreign country and supposed, and completely unfounded bias against that country. I do think it is weird how we act when Israel is in the picture. If a person basically yelled out of no where at a political convention, "I stand with England!" they'd be looked at as a bit kooky.

You have friends who want to harm this country? I wouldn't vote for you either.

I don't think DeMintConservative means any harm or has a passionate attachment for Israel, I just think he needs to read up more on a foreign policy of freedom to better understand the depth of corruption.

You're quite possibly correct. It's quite startling to realize how massive this issue is once you do the research.

I think it is the blanket statements about 'pro Israel' groups that makes people uncomfortable. I don't blame special interests for existing, I blame people in our government for selling their votes.

Truth makes many people uncomfortable.

And ultimately, I blame "the people" for voting for the gov't reps who sell their votes.

And without a track record you only have your word, which is why I'm really thinking more about the term limits on representatives. And as far as senators go, undo the election of senators and turn it back to the state legislators.

My tactic is to vote anyone out who is an incumbent that hasn't proved their mettle. Everyone from dogcatcher to congressman.

I think most people believe that if something is important they will hear it on the news. I know I did, at one time, until some things came up that I was flabbergasted I HADN'T heard about on the news, when they were important, and had been building for a long time. Then I started getting my own news. But democracy in a biased news world isn't really a reflection of the actual views of the people.

so how exactly do you 'beef up foreign policy credentials' just by taking a trip? people seriously think Romney is going to take a 3 or 4 day trip to Israel and come back a FP expert?

i get why some people are pro-Israel, I really do. but why are they all such mooching, abrasive fuckbags? i get so tired of reading this 'you're a scum of the earth, worthless ingrate unless you support Israel and give them everything they want!' tripe, that when I hear about Israel from someone I get instantly pissed off. all of these people who want to do everything and give their life for Israel can go quit their job, sell their house, and take their life savings to Israel - where they can appropriately fondle her balls all day.

if the Israeli-firsters wouldn't try to paint everyone who doesn't agree with them 100% (and it could be for a huge variety of reasons) as devil-spawn, they'd be doing themselves a favor. as it sits now, they are really turning off an entire generation and are in their death throes. people my age (20's to low 30's) could give a fucking shit about Israel. we're concerned about OUR COUNTRY.

Politicians and Diapers should be changed often and for the same reason, eh?

I think I'd agree.
