PPP Poll (1/1/12): Paul 20%, Romney 19%, Santorum 18%

How bad do you think it would hurt Romney going into NH if he gets 3rd in Iowa behind Paul and Santorum ?

So this is just a turnout election at this point. Is Paul better organized than Romney?

I don't want to rely on polls...

The way I always look at it, is no matter where we are positioned, always act like we are polling 10 points behind.

This may cause some people to get comfortable. I just hope the ground game in Iowa keeps pushing and doesn't rest. Godspeed to them.

We might as well be polling 10 points behind.

I don't mean that to be negative about Paul's chances, I think there's a good chance that Paul comes out and wins (these polls are so close that it'll come down to who has a better organization). But, I do believe that a second place, especially behind Romney, is game over.

So, while this poll isn't completely bad news, we still have can't let up. We need to keep a sense of urgency, or else we'll end up handing the victory to Santorum or Romney.

Santorum with 18% support yet only 9% think he'll win and only 13% think he has run the strongest campaign. I don't think he'll have the same level of support as the Paul camp come Tuesday. I'm feeling a bit more confident.

His support, if real, I still doubt it, is super soft, so soft that many of his "supporters" might not come out to vote at all.

I really hope Rand's stump speech is plastered all over CNN and FOX and CSPAN tomorrow. A lot of people will be tuning in and deciding.

I agree, there's no way the Santorum people are gonna show up IMO.

If the order is Paul, Santorum, Romney, it could be bad for Romney.

If the order is Santorum, Paul, Romney, it'll have no major impact.

Santorum as 2nd choice for so many candidates worries me.

WTF man. Would people stop letting the idiot box tell them what to do? Santorum has no money, no ground game, hardly any presence...we've been working our asses off for so long...

The media and their artificial surges really has sway with idiots don't they?

NO ONE is going to get comfortable with numbers like this!

We have to vet him in the comment section of every article on him. google him go to the top articles and post his record.

Paul dropped 4 points.

Paul 20 (24)
Romney 19 (20)
Santorum 18 (10)
Gingrich 14 (13)
Perry 10 (10)
Bachmann 8 (11)
Huntsman 4 (4)
Roemer 2

Santorum is taking votes away from Paul..

Yes, he must be taking some of our soft supporters.

I doubt this poll is accurate. Its basically implying Ron Paul lost some votes to Santorum, which is physically impossible. Besides Perry, Santorum is the dumbest candidate. I doubt that excites many people.

From the polling, #1 issue by far is spending and government debt.
Who else but Ron Paul even addresses this realistically? Hammer it home.
