Thanksgiving is the one day every year that I eat turkey. A slice of white meat, a slice of dark, some gravy and whatever kind of cranberry sauce you can throw at me (prefer whole, also enjoy the orange spiced as well as canned).
One of my friends gave me an amazing recipe for sweet potatoes, he claims he hates sweet potatoes with marshmallows and crap, but this one he likes.. It's cause it has two layers, a layer of sweet potatoes mildly sweetened with brown sugar and mildly spiced, with a crispy, crunchy delicious layer of pecans, brown sugar and marshmallows and crap on top. I don't have it here, but if anybody is interested I might be able to dig it up.
I also have a recipe somewhere for really good avocado pie. I've made it before where it came out better than pumpkin pie, but instead of brown, it's green. Other than that, the texture and flavor is almost identical to pumpkin pie.
We always drink sparkling apple cider, or variations of.
Appetizers are usually chips, dips, soup and shrimp.
Other than that, all the typical dishes with maybe some green beans. I love cooking, but there are plenty of other people always taking the helm, I'd just get in the way of those who want it more.
