Post Debate Discussion

Please lets keep things civil here.

Are you kidding me? ARe we really going to keep this from becoming personal and emotional? I hate to be kicked from this forum, but attitudes like this will not get Ron Paul elected. We are talking about the last vestigages of freedom here are we not?

Freedom will only be hurt by non-civility at this moment.

This is the letter that I sent to CNN

I am very disappointed, but honestly not that surprised that you completely ignored Ron Paul during the debate. One could probably add up the total amount of time that he was able to tell his message in seconds. This is completely irresponsible for a news agency that presumes to have the best political coverage. He is the only true, "old school" Republican and his message deserves equal time. And especially shame on CNN for interviewing the major three candidates afterwards. It appears that you're giving, what you think the viewers want, which completely negates any pretense of being fair and impartial, which is after all a sign of a good news source.

I can't believe this bs debate. All it was was a platform for the neocon socialist candidates.

This is an unbelievable moment in our country's history!
Hardly. Sit back, take a deep breath of air, and realize that the US media has been doing this since the day before Washington took office. The concept of fair and objective news is a modern concept. Throughout most of our history, journalism has been extremely biased and partisan. Live online comments may make it more obvious it is happening, but newspapers have always picked and chosen which letters got published in the editorial pages.

But rembmer. We're talking about private organizations. Are we going to abolish the first amendment and do a totalitarian Hugo Chavez on them? Rudy might do something like that, but Ron won't. If you want someone to make things fair, then Ron Paul probably isn't the candidate for you.

If you all can't allow this to be the emotional thing that it is, then we have already lost. I can't except that one of our own would say, "What can we do...nothing, right?" I don't think there is anything uncivil about pointing out that this is not the constructive attitude of someone who will stand to preserve their liberty regardless of the odds.

Faux news had Fred thompson during the debate answering all the questions
and now on cnn he just got more than Ron did in the entire debate

I didn't catch it at first, so I went back on the DVR.

Anderson Cooper unmistakably said "You're watching Ron Paul... Raw Politics."

That's just awesome!

Paulitics - (n.) A political idealogy centering on the Jeffersonian intepretations of the constitution and the Bill of Rights. Paulitics can be characterized by being socially conservative personally and yet not impress it upon the people through the federal government. Also, Paulitics is characterized by non-interventionistist foreign policy and free-market principles (specifically the Austrian school).

Edit: This needs refinement. Good portmanteau here. We should refine it. It is catchy.

Why are politics being faught on such unfair grounds? How about all candidates come out and debate in front of the public. How about all these experts shut their mouth. How about chanels that clearly favor runer ups stop stop talking. We shouldnt be fighting CNN to give Ron a fair chanse we should be fighting the fact that CNN is hosting anything that has to do with politics.

The bald guy pointed out that Ron Paul is the only republican against the war. Nice.

You know as well as I do that the MSN has been coopted by the ruling parties of goverment. CNN, FOX, and MSNBC hardly operate for the benefit of the private citizen. What I am trying to say is that we do have a choice. We do not have to except this. The degree of our success will only be equal to the degree of our personal commitment not to accept the crimes that are being commited against us, the American people. We need to move way beyond internet polls, forums, and blogs. We need to get into the head of the average American. Me personally, I am going to take this to the streets. This has gone far enough.

Fair enough. I just worry about "build up" to things being uncivil. :) Thanks everyone.

I think the thing is most of us totally expected this. You are dealing with Military Industrialists Media. Fox news is military media constructed for the right - and CNN is military media constructed for the left. Im not sure what this whole argument is about but I dont believe people are being un-emotional, people are simply dealing with exactly what they expected. We need to move forward and fight.
