Ron Paul: The Right Choice for Michigan Auto Workers

Tuesday January 15, 4:11 pm ET

Republican presidential candidate's stance on NAFTA, economy resonates with auto industry workers

DETROIT--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dan Osterman, chair of “Auto Workers for Ron Paul,” issued the following statement today:

“As Michigan auto workers go to the polls to vote in the last few hours today, one candidate should be on their minds as they consider the state of the economy. Only one presidential candidate understands that NAFTA threatens American sovereignty and American jobs. Only one candidate understands that sound money and sound economic policies need to be pursued to restore Michigan’s economy. Only one candidate knows that uncontrollable government spending and printing of money threaten the value of each hard-earned dollar in our pockets. The only candidate who can save auto workers’ jobs and bring Michigan out of recession is Ron Paul. Today, vote for the candidate that all auto workers should support—vote on the Republican ballot for Ron Paul.”

“UAW Members for Ron Paul” have held several rallies in the past week for the 10-term Texas congressman and Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul. Recently, they have held “Stop NAFTA” rallies in support of Congressman Paul at the Livonia transmissions plant and Ford Michigan truck plant.

“Congressman Paul draws more support from auto workers than any other candidate in the primary,” said Paul Michigan state coordinator Leslie Roszman. “They are some of our most dedicated volunteers, and their investment in Ron Paul is a hard-hitting reminder that only Dr. Paul can end NAFTA, save Michigan’s jobs, and restore the economy.”

Primary polls close at 8:00pm this evening.

Local Hillsdale Supporters Rally in Support of Ron Paul
Republican presidential candidate leading choice among Hillsdale voters

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Local supporters of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul rallied Sunday from 11am-1pm near the Jonesville WalMart, distributing literature and yard signs to undecided voters.

With two days remaining until Michigan's January 15 presidential primary election, area supporters hope to boost the 10-term Texas Congressman Ron Paul's support in Hillsdale and the 7th congressional district.

Congressman Paul is already the leading choice among Hillsdale voters, according to a poll conducted by the Hillsdale Daily News. With 24 percent of the vote on the Republican side, area supporters are hopeful that the pro-Constitution, anti-NAFTA Congressman Paul will win big on January 15.

"Dr. Paul's grassroots support in Hillsdale is outstanding," said Paul Michigan state coordinator Leslie Roszman. "With more grassroots activity than any other presidential campaign, we are confident that our Hillsdale volunteers' efforts will result in a high voter turnout for Ron Paul on January 15."

Congressman Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate who has neither voted to raise taxes nor for an unbalanced budget. He has never voted to raise congressional pay, and returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the US treasury every year. Furthermore, as a staunch advocate of the Constitution he has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership, and voted against the Patriot Act.

Hillsdale will be to Michigan what Richmond County was to NH and Fairfield was to Iowa.
