POLL: Ron Paul's VP???

The judge is too old? How old do you think Ron Paul is?

I think his point is that you do usually pick a VP who balances you out. Obama did not pick another "young" guy with dark skin to be his VP. He picked an older lighter guy with more experience (?) in politics, who just doesn't have the charisma to win the nod on his own. Ron Paul, therefore, should look to someone younger and who can bring in some more people from somewhere Ron's appeal is lacking.

the problem is that you can't pick and choose a liberty candidate because there just aren't many of them.

It's not 1992 ( not that they would have fared any better then), and that pick would be as suicidal as many of the others already mentioned.

( This was supposed to quote the Buchanan pick, and I have no idea why it didn't)

I'd say Schiff but one would think the business crowd would be smart enough to vote for Paul as it without needing a VP to sway them.

i still say schiff. he's got charisma and knows how to explain everything in economic terms.. a must for this election

Rand is the obvious choice. Remember, Ron is running as a Republican but a lot of them dislike him because of his completely anti-war stance while Rand isn't completely pro-war but he's somewhere in the middle (not that I like it but still...) so he seems to have the neo-con vote cornered for the most part; this'd actually help Ron get the nomination as neo-cons would see a Paul/Paul ticket as better hedge against Obama-presidency because Ron obviously has a significant democrat & independent base & thus has a better chance of stealing those Obama-votes more than any other Republican-candidate while having Rand there will be re-assurring for the neo-cons that we'll still have strong national defense & maybe have SOME military presence around the globe.

So Paul/Paul & declare early; just my two cents.

IMO, we need to go back to the old system in which the VP was elected separately. This provides another useful check against Presidential tyranny.

I second that about the vp being separately elected.

to answer the question, perhaps Allen West? Articulate, known and respected (among libertarians and neocons alike) for his military leadership, and voted no on the Big Brother Act.

No way!!! I want Napolitano on the Supreme Court!

Do you know that he's FOR birthright-citizenship & that he'll rule FOR it when it goes to SC? It's a direct incentive to illegal immigration & inviting more freeloading democrats/socialists (be it mexicans or WHITE canadians, to be clear) which really jeopardizes our goal of making America libertarian.

Keep Ventura away from Paul please. The guy is scary, and is often too friendly with the left. In his book he talked about being convinced by Al Gore that we needed cap and trade. You never know what Ventura will believe next.

One thing is for sure. It would have to be a real liberty VP. How can people suggest Jim Demint or Herman Cain?? You are just asking for an assassination attempt. Think for a second!!!!

My personal choice would be hands down Peter Schiff; but I don't think the general public is wise enough to realize what an economically powerful ticket of Paul/Schiff would be for this country. Luckily Schiff would be an economic advisor for Paul's administration at the very least.

Politically, Christie would decline, so Bachmann to help united the south or Kucinich to gain Independent and Democrat votes might be best.

I do not care for Ventura, too many hits to the head. He said he'd support Ron Paul only if he ran as an independent. Well anyone who thinks he's a different person due to the party he runs under is nuts. Ron Paul as the Democratic Party nominee still wouldn't matter for my vote, I'd switch parties.
