Poll: Rand Paul leads Hillary Clinton in state of Kentucky and gets 29% of black vote

Blacks are more likely to be older, legal citizens and be politically active. Rand has spent more time with blacks in his state than Hilary has and its not a swing state.

What's the black population like in KY? Are they mostly middle class?

I live in the wealthy part of Kentucky (about 95% white). There are a lot of poor black people in Louisville, there's also a part of Western KY that IIRC has a high black population.

Yes, Rand needs to come to Louisville more often.

Mainly so I can meet him. Rand, you will look tall next to me! :D

If Hillary runs, one theory is that some states that haven't been swing states lately (like AR and KY), might be swing states. In at least 3 of those swing states, plus more traditional swing states, Rand Paul beats Hillary Clinton in the latest poll. That's CO first, then in NH and now in KY. Go Rand!

If Rand gets that 29% to the rest of the states with his logical outreach on key issues, it it GAME OVER. And it has the potential to go much higher. It could become a majority. Think about it.

My thoughts exactly. 2016 will not be as easy for the Democrats when it comes to black people as it was in 2008. They were promised change and no GOOD change came from the last administration besides the fact that we got one of our own in the white house. Black people everywhere in this country want to elevate a level socio-economically and they also don't want to be played for fools anymore by the Democrats. Be warned DNC, be warned....

i dont see this as good news. any rep should win kentucky. 48-44 for a rep senator from KY doesnt seem all that great.

Rand getting 1/3 of the black vote is a neutron bomb!! Imagine if he could replicate that throughout the country, GAME, SET, MATCH.

It seems to me like Hillary and Obama are almost identical on the issues, so I don't really understand why she's so much more popular in the red states, and among conservative and moderate Democrats. I don't see any way that she's more moderate than Obama.

Liberal Answer:

"They're racist!"

Actual reason:

Bill Clinton wasn't anti-coal, Clinton was from the South (Jimmy Carter also won KY), there are a few old racists, and for some reason, people like Hillary.

My guess is that Hillary is just as anti coal as Obama. She's just as big of an environmentalist as Obama is. I think that once voters in states like Kentucky and Arkansas find out about and learn more about Hillary's actual positions on the issues, her support will drop significantly in those states.

I think so too. I also think her support will drop throughout the country once people learn more about her.

Also Hillary will have to come out for cap and trade just to rally the base. To at least pretend she has to win over liberals.

Rand has been opposed to it since he first ran and will have Big Coal on his side.

With appointments to deparments and judges there is a coalition. The liberal gun grabbing judges are the same ones that want to jackboot EPA thugs. The conservative judges are against legislating cap and trade from the bench and against gun control.

29% of the black vote is huge. I heard that if a Republican can get just 17% of the black vote they have a near certain chance of winning an election.

A small part of me that thinks Hill won't run is getting bigger. She's laying great cover for other emerging, but not groomed candidates like Warren while 2016 Republicans are getting the coverage (but won't do much to put necks out for electoral wins).

Never underestimate Hillary's hunger for Power. This is what animates every fiber of her being.

He just needs 15% of the black vote in key states and he'll win. If he can get 15% of the black vote in Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, and Florida he wins.
