Politico: Pro-Paul PAC makes BIG ad buy in South Carolina

I hereby claim the mantle of the first SantaRitaSuperPAC fanboy on rpfs. thank you for this opportunity. santarita leaves all other RP superpacs choking on their dust.

I don't like to be a fanboy, but I don't see any mistakes. And they aren't here begging for money. The grassroots has set an extremely low bar for "success". SantaRita does not seem to need to be aware that theres any sort of bar to jump over. These ads are a wonderful compliment to the higher production value official campaign ads.
Hammering home the message in as few words, as few seconds as possible.

Exactly. These guys got the job done, I'm a fan. At first I didn't care for the ads, because we've been inundated with flashiness. I watched them again and they really hit their marks.

Run the "What the Polls" ad. According to surveys, that's the number one concern of 50% of the voters, and the place where Paul is weakest. Best bang for the buck. It's also short which means more runs for the money. Update it to the latest poll (CBS) first.

This Revpac Oath Ad, which so many of you love so much, forgets to mention that Ron Paul is an Air Force Veteran.

The SantaRita ads, which are shorter, put "Ron Paul is a Veteran" front and center.

Who is Bill Manning? Is he famous in some way? Is there some reason we care what Bill Manning has to say? We might agree with what he has to say 100%, but other people might not know who he is, and might not go "oh, well Bill Manning said this, so it must be right"

A picture of Ron Paul in a military uniform for 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 120 seconds. That's a good ad.

Because not every South Carolinian knows that Ron Paul is an Air Force veteran. And we know, because we're smart, that we have something that the other candidates don't. Ron Paul is a Veteran. Show it often. We want people in South Carolina to know that.

Here are 2 screencaps from the Santa Rita 30 second spot.

I really like their ads. They are very quick, and to the point. I hope they run the ones dealing with electibility and military support the most. I really like how they end with, "Vote for the next President, Ron Paul." Helps to reinforce the concept that he can really win! The one thing I don't really like is that their endings with the disclaimer could have been done better. Right now there is a little photo of the founder of the super pac at the bottom that seems distracting. A big photo of Ron himself might be better.

First: you cant speak for others. Second, if you had read my earlier posts I had complimented them on their initiative and intentions. Good intentions don't always have good results though - the super brochure proves that. I was was never smarmy, questioning the outcome of something is legit. Asking if the money would've been better spent is legit.

Yer a bunch of armchair quarterbacks who clog the board with your lofty opinions of your ability to run a Presidential campaign. And I do speak for others. I am the guy who goes where mods fear to tread.

The ads are all great, with the exception of the mask one IMO. But hey, beggars can't be choosers. :D

This brilliant news and will be a nice boost to our poll numbers. Thank you so much SantaRita SuperPAC!

Too bad DailyPaul is raising all that money for SuperBrochures... it's pretty obvious that this SantaRita TV ad buy has really pushed Ron's poll numbers forward... and for only 300k.. The Maine SuperBrochers will cost 950k... what a waste.

I doubt the Maine Superbrochures are going to cost $950K. There are less than 1.5 million people in Maine, and if every man, woman and child in Maine got one of these it would still be around $750K. I do agree with you though.

I pulled that figure from a post in the latest SB thread... Regardless, the SB money would be better spent on TV ad buys.

Other then the lack of the official branding/logo at the end, these are actually pretty good for the older people that don't need anything flashy and hard to follow.

I agree that i'd prefer the official logo. there might be unknown advantages to using a different font. but for positive ads I'd think the official logo might be better. the campaign might like that distinction between official and pac though.
