But somehow I doubt this will get the same play as the attack, and they are trying to make it look like we are saying Huntsman did it. Personally, I think it was just sent first to them, for maximum explosion to splatter Ron, and don't care who did it, it is a freaking random troll internet video. But I DO care that Ron has been smeared nonstop on this and I do care that it gets out there that WE clearly did NOT do it.

As you can see, they are now trying to pretend Ron is smearing Huntsman again when the entire smear is against RON.

Heh. Not holding my breath for anybody at RedState to link to this....

Wow their spokesperson is losing his shit. Haha.

Blasted Miller: “Their latest conspiracy theory is nothing more than an attempt to cover for one of their racist supporters. The Paul campaign has botched the response to this shameful video from the beginning. Had they simply condemned the video and their supporter, we would be discussing the important issues facing our country. Instead their ridiculous and easily debunked ‘commission report’ will continue to focus attention on this shameful video.”

You mean campaign web ads painting Ron as racist and crazy?

Huntsman seems to be losing it. He'll be out of the race when he gets 4th or 5th in New Hampshire.

I posted in the other thread about a particular user on YT/Twitter that seems to be related... he's associated with Liberals, revealed doing coverups/exploits even back to rep. Weiner etc.

WELL... They're not even mentioning RON on Fox News... so it's just a 100% blackout

I think CNN gave Ron Paul and honorable mention for 5 seconds total. "he currently in 2nd... THE END"

Woah - the official campaign isn't messing around with this (as they shouldn't). The commissioned analysis of the hit is pretty good although it doesn't explicitly address/debunk the 'twitter feed' excuse the Huntsman campaign is going with.

That said, the conclusion of their analysis certainly doesn't mince words:

...it seems likely that a party close to the Huntsman campaign posted and distributed this video impersonating a Ron Paul supporter in
order to cast Ron Paul and his campaign in a negative light.

I like this response since I believe dirty attacks like this need to be confronted head-on. That said, it did provide an opening for the Huntsman campaign to hit back with
“It is offensive that Ron Paul’s allies would claim that Gov. Huntsman’s own family would create such a video that distracts from the important issues that this country faces,” said Miller, who explained the campaign became aware of the video “when a reporter emailed me about it.”

Truth will hopefully prevail. Personally, I found Doug Wead's handling of the 'controversy' best.

Drudge this!

Wow, this is going to blow up in Huntsman face lol. Way to go campaign! They are more on top of things than they let on. Great move by them commissioning an web analysis. Look at that reaction from Huntsman's camp. They want to move on as fast as they can from this story blowing up further because they know this could be the end of their campaign.

Expect Huntsman to retreat and to call off the media dogs asap so that this won't get further attention. But it may already be too late.

What about one of the early stories (I think I saw it from HuffPost) about the creator saying the campaign told him not to speak with the press?

That's a red-flag to begin with is it not?

That would imply the Ron Paul camp KNOWS who posted it, and wouldn't it imply that the journalist who published it KNOWS who posted it, too?

I don't think the article conceeded anything. They just told both sides of the story.

No, it means that the owner of the youtube channel is making shit up to make the campaign look bad. It's someone from the Huntsman camp.

hopefully this finishes huntsmans political career forever. he might not have been the one behind it, but he sure ran with it and tried to benefit from the video that any sane human being five seconds into it should have laughed at, closed down and forgot about.

That's my point.

If the Paul campaign never spoke/denied this statement, then they could just call the bluff saying prove that we told you not to talk to the media.

When The Huffington Post contacted the poster of the video through YouTube to ask why they created the video and whether they had any formal association with the Paul campaign, NHLiberty4Paul replied: "Sorry, campaign has asked me not to speak to reporters."

I wonder if the campaign will bring law enforcement into it and try to get the identity/IP of whoever was using that youtube account.

there an easy way to track this.. keep up with the youtube account and see what else it posts; if it posts anything.. see everyone should reasonably know that we all kicked in at high gear as soon as Paul announced this election cycle.. and if it wasnt created for the purpose of that one video there should be more to come right?

I found the article to be surprisingly unbiased for a politico article. It presented the evidence, and the responses from both sides without interjecting any opinion.

I don't think the article conceeded anything. They just told both sides of the story.

they say:

But at the very least, there’s reason to doubt whether the video actually came from a Paul supporter. The YouTube account on which it was posted, NHLiberty4Paul, has no other videos attached to it and was created on the same day the video was posted. So was a corresponding Twitter account.
