ok, let me preface this: so i started off by asking whether or not he had been contacted by the campaign. he said he had, but that he was not going to caucus. he started out telling me that he was not going to be caucusing... i got into the specifics of why we need every vote, because the polls are so close and that we have to get everyone there that we can... he started talking about, well whats the point, iowa does not matter. i stated that in the last 30 years, only 2 candidates who won iowa did not win their party's nomination... then i went into how obama won and that springboarded his campaign to the national level, and that if we win tonight, we change the narrative that paul can not win, and that we go on to new hampshire with the momentum to win. he got real excited but said he wasnt going to caucus. i kept on with how we need every vote we can get, and asked if he could call some friends who may be interested since he will be busy and can not go. he then went on about how he liked ron paul the best, and hated the media and what they've done to him. said he wanted to focus on the issues. so i went into his 30 year consistent record and how that's what we need for president. he agreed. so i talked about how the national polls show that ron paul is pairing up really well against obama, and that we need a consistent conservative that can go up against him and win, not just so obama is gone, but so the american people can win, so that we can fix this economy, focus on bringing down the national debt, and start creating more jobs... he was like, wait a minute, repeat what you said, so i went back into how ron paul matches up really well against obama. i said that the reason for this was that he pulled in so many indy's and democrats, who now realize they get the chance to vote for what they thought they were voting for last time. he was like, you know what, i dont really tell people my political views, but i have been a democrat all my life. he said he hated obama, and wanted to get him out. i reiterated that ron paul was his man and that we really needed him tonight. that every person helps when we are only 1-2% from winning. i asked him why he wouldn't be able to make it tonight, whether he did not want to be involved in the process or just had things planned. he was like, well you know what, where is it? so i put his info into this
http://www.ronpaul2012.com/caucus/, and got his caucus location. so i told him he could get there from 5:30-6:45 and just fill out the simple form, and he would be set. i told him the vote is at 7:00, and he can vote and head home. he said that the caucus wasn't far from his work, and that he would be going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i told him right before we got off that we needed everyone we could, so if he could just call a couple friends or bring a few folks from work, and that in this tight race, this could be a difference maker... he said that he would!!!!!!!!!!! keep calling and get ready to talk... this took like 15 minutes, but was totally worth it.... i am on an emotional high right now. back to calling!!!!!!
