I'm very troubled by the law in Arizona. I don't even know how it's going to be enforced. Apparently, the police is supposed to stop and question people they suspect of being here illegally. But they're not allowed to racially profile, so I don't know how you do that. Will they have to randomly stop everybody and ask them for their papers and see if you're here illegally? I don't want to live in a society where I have to be constantly worrying about having someone stopping me.

I thought Schiff's answer was great. Even the hardcore close-down-the-borders crowd could agree with Peter here.

Whats the big effin deal about producing "papers" when you already are being asked to produce a driver license and insurance when a cop stops you for speeding or a busted tail-light????

I don't want to live in a society where I have to be constantly worrying about having illegal immigrant invaders taking my job, stealing my taxes, robbing me, driving drunk , and throwing their dirty diapers, McDonald's wrappers, etc. on the ground.

wow... I'm really tired of arguing about this, so I'll let this slide today

You've probably just cost Schiff some donations from the xenophobic liberty conservatives.

Can we give out "jerkoff" awards in this forum? IF so, you get one.

Next time try not so hard to be a liberty lover while preaching collectivism.

You left out: throwing their used toilet paper in the trash next to the toilet.
You left out: more americans are killed by illegal immigrants per year than we have lost in iraq, since we've invaded them.

I'm tired too.

I'm quite certain phill4paul was joking. But anyway

I guess Trey Grayson isn't the only one being a hypocrite today.

Dear Peter Schiff, Arizona is not Connecticut. Please MYOB (Fix your sad portfolio!)

Easy for you to say while safe and cozy in Brooklyn, thousands of miles from the Mexican border.

When was the last time you visited a Wal-Mart in the Sun Belt?

Do you think that it's Americans leaving dirty diapers in the parking lot, and staring blankly as their many children throw candy and burger wrappers into the wind?

I've been there and seen it. Go ahead Gordon Brown, call me a bigot.

You're not letting anything slide, don't even try to front like you're doing us a favor by sparing us the mighty wrath of your righteous indignation.

Why don't you and Nancy Pelosi organize a boycott of Arizona? Oh, wait....

I can assure you there are plenty of Americans who do this. There are also plenty of Americans who drive drunk and rob people.

No Surrender, No Retreat !!!!

Yes, I did leave out some key facts. I'm holding them in reserve.

You lead with the cannon fodder. Save the aces to play later.

I'm not tired at all. And wouldn't care if I was.

I'm ready to debate anyone on this issue, on any sub-topic.

Immigration is one of the top 10 subjects I've forgotten more about than most people will ever know.

By the Great Beans of Arabica, This Shall Not Pass!

Xenophobia, Isolationism, and other Marxist trigger words

You've probably just cost Schiff some donations from the xenophobic liberty conservatives.

From the perspective of the Liberal Left, I can easily see why they would consider a person with opinions like Justin Raimondo's "xenophobic" and "isolationist."

But why would a Libertarian Purist Ron Paul supporter adopt their Marxist bullet words?

How sad! :(

Schiff is obviously clueless about how this law works. People have to have been pulled over or detained on some other type of law violation before they can be questioned about their immigration status.

Schiff = FAIL.

Wrong. Read my signature. It's enough if the police believes someone is an illegal immigrant.

low preference, that means that the cop has to see the person committing some kind of crime. the law strictly prohibits police from profiling or making "contact" with citizens based on suspicion that they are illegal. your law skills = FAIL.

Being in the country is a crime for illegals. Thus just being in the country and "looking like an illegal" according to police perception is enough. I'll take the law analysis of Judge Napolitano, a former NJ Supreme Court Justice any day over yours.
