Paul to be on Cavuto at 4PM EST (in t10 minutes!!) 12/23

Ok so who's going to make sure that everyone who was exposed to the BS propaganda smear attack for the last 4 days gets to see this one 5-7min interview to undo the damage?
This was Fox News! The target audience that are about to vote in less than 2 weeks are watching this and not CNN.

He's at 13% nationally, and still surging in Iowa. We don't need to spend more time on this. We need to return the conversation to the only thing that matters: cutting spending, shrinking government, bringing our troops home. THESE are the things important to Americans.

I like how Ron said his support seems to rise the more the media dismisses his campaign or a Iowa win.

that 1/100th of 1% part was awesome, puts things in perspective as to how many papers were printed and how easy it would be to miss one or two paragraphs while he was busy doing his job for a living.

It sure was!

All those newsletters he has been putting out since the 70's and two paragraphs which he neither wrote or approved in the way of knowing they were in the newsletter is supposed to somehow bring into question his management skills? Please!

Go Ron!

Cavuto did well in giving him time to explain and backed him up. He was even trying to interrupt him to move on to something else while Ron Paul continued to explain things.

Vague Synopsis:
Cavuto: You are winning in Iowa, Republicans are saying that you winning will be meaningless. Thoughts?
Ron Paul: I am surprised by the numbers...etc.
Cavuto: The governor of Iowa said if you win, then look at the 2nd and 3rd place winners.
Ron Paul: I am surprised because the governor has been fair in the past and he may have been taken out of context but if he said it in that way it is a blow to democracy.
Cavuto: With you being ahead in the polls, they are going to start attacking. For instance the newsletters, the media is saying there are racist things and that you are a racist...etc.
Ron Paul: They haven't been saying I am a racist but attacking my management of it all. I agree that it may have been poor management on my part, it was during a time while I was practicing medicine. I have been doing those newsletters since the 1970s and those few bad articles are 1/10th of 1% of all of my newsletters. They were mainly hard money newsletters, I was involved when it came to economics and predicting the bubbles as we have discussed many times, if anyone at the time knew of my newsletters they knew them as hard money newsletters..
Cavuto: Ok, let's switch subjects...Donald Trump announced he's an independent and may run for president, your thoughts
Ron Paul: If that is what he wants to do, fine. I'm just not sure why he didn't just stay in and do it as a Republican.
Cavuto: You won't be kissing the Donald's ring?
Ron Paul: I see no reason for it, he's the complete opposite of me. He doesn't support free markets and is against free trade...

(just a summary from memory, not direct quotes)

I just donated to the campaign. Choosing to go with Cavuto for Ron's first televised interview after the issue was raised was an amazing move.

I'm giving them money for that, just as much as I am for Ron's response.

Don't be naive please, cool, he handled an interview fine, I just hope the damage already done isn't too big.

Realistic view: There wasn't any damage from this in 2008, there wont be any damage in 2012.

The only piece that hit ron hard in 2007 was the part relating to the earmarks when he had the sunday morning show. That ruined his momentum because it made him appear that he was corrupt (even though it was a slam and wasn't true). That part already came up, but it was cleared away. The newletters has always been a non-issue.

Stop claiming that we were damaged by this - phone from home and quit posting negative crap on the boards.

Indeed

Important part of the interview: Ron pushing his stance on civil liberties, the war on drugs, and systemic racism in the judicial system.

Beautiful, and an unforeseen benefit of this mess might be that Ron gets to bring those dire and saddening issues to the forefront.

Do you want me to respond and potentially damper the positive mood that this interview seems to have created or would you rather I don't?

Fwiw I've been "out of the loop" living a somewhat-normal life this last week or so (not constantly watching news and forums in other words), and if it weren't for stopping by here once or twice a day I wouldn't even know the media had brought them up. I've listened to talk radio on the way to work, fox maybe a half hour a night, and checked drudge daily, that's about it recently. Id have no idea it was happening if it weren't for rpf.

I think we tend to forget that we're activist political junkies. The average voter doesn't analyze every article like we do.
