Paul to be in Maine on Saturday

letting romney win to stop santorum is dumb. how about ron paul win to stop santorum??? just one freaking win ffs. we need it for new donors. most of us are maxed out on campaign donations. how the hell can he get to end of the GOP process with no money?

Why should I work hard to donate if the campaign doesn't work hard to win? Paul might be tired but there are other people associated with the campaigner aren't there?

Lmao, yea, anyone thinking that is a valid strategy at this point, need their head checked. Romney is still a frontrunner and will be a threat the rest of the way through. All 3 of them are, so playing any kind of political chess games like that is just retarded, or trying to play 'blocker'. Ron needs to win a state, all there is to it.

I will donate $1,000 if Ron Paul wins Maine.

Get to Maine RON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

Did those who emailed Doug Wead include a link to this thread (plus a few of the other threads about Ron not being in Maine)?? I think the campaign needs to see this.

Doug Wead just responded to my email from a few hours ago:

"Thanks Wolfgang, this is all not under my control, I do coalitions but I do know that part of the problem is the media will only cover what they want to cover and in the past they have ignored our Q and A's. We will see. All great ideas. I will pass them on."

I don't like the "media won't cover it" excuse. Even if they were blacked out, voter q&a's, detailed policy speeches, and forum discussions are the right thing to do just to get it on the record and show people how democracy is supposed to work. But the "media won't cover it" excuse is ironic because that is exactly the kind of thing that the media couldn't ignore.

If he was holding an ALL DAY "Challenge Ron Paul-Town Hall" at a big church in Portland Maine tomorrow, it would be big news. Do you know what its like watching one of those CSPAN or CNN live streams immediately after one of Ron's rally speeches when the cameras keep rolling and all that opportunity is wasted while people get pictures and autographs?

We could show everybody that we're serious about this. After Ron's 30 minute stump speeches we have a 2 hour foreign policy discussions with real journalists who report from the outermost stretches of the empire and we answer questions and follow up questions from the undecided voters who pay their money for it and die for it.

This is our last chance. There's never going to be another Peace & Sound Money candidate.

What I don't get is how we, the rabid RPF members, don't know WHEN RON WILL BE GETTING TO MAINE...???

This should be simple. MAJOR communications gap.

santorum, romney, and gingrich is taking turns raping ron paul... and out of those three, two of them are there to soak up votes and delegates for the one that is ultimately probably going to be the nominee.

hypothetically, lets say ron paul gets 500 supporters to be delegates in a brokered convention. romney gets 500, santorum gets 500, gingrich gets 500 delegates... if santorum and gingrich pledge support to romney.. romney will get 1500 delegates = win (correct me if im wrong about how delegates work lol).

the above scenario is what worries me. otherwise, why is the establishment trying to get a brokered convention? if it was Romney vs ron paul and everone else dropped out since Florida... I am pretty sure Ron Paul will get more delegates than Romney (if it was brokered and going on romney vs anti-romney). It worries me even more since Santorum and Gingrich is doing the delegates game as well.

Gingrich has too big an ego, he's not giving his delegates to anyone

Ron not being in Maine until Saturday is a major Campaign Blunder. They are making the same mistake that was made after a strong second place finish in New Hampshire, go off the Campaign Trail for day after day after day.

If Maine is not Won, and I mean Won on Saturday I am afraid the RP Nation will explode in anger and disgust. Anyone that knows anything about political campaigns would state categorically that Ron should be in Maine NOW.

As I said on another thread, I will be happiest RP Supporter and contribute immediately to a Maine Victory Money Bomb.

However, with this second major Campaign mistake I am seriously thinking that Romney will snatch a victory from apparent defeat after Saturday's votes are tallied.

If that happens, I believe the RP Nation will be furious and many will simply go silent in their support, seeing that the Campaign has degenerated to its' old 2008 ways.

I hope I am wrong, but I am beginning to be extremely worried about the outcome with Ron not in Maine until Saturday, THE DAY OF THE LARGEST CAUCUS'S. Why not tomorrow I will never know.

Meanwhile in case you did not realize it, Gingrich, Santorum and Romney have taken ZERO days off and are working very hard for votes in Oklahoma, Georgia and Ohio.

No one can give their delegates to anyone else. If someone drops out, the delegates become unbound and can vote for whomever they like.

The hope is that many of the other candidates delegates are actually Paul supporters, so they'll vote for Paul if a candidate drops out, or if there is a second round of voting at the national convention.

you never know what rules the GOP will change or come up with lol.

If Ron Paul isn't in Maine Friday I will not be donating to the moneybomb. It shows me that he is not serious about winning, and if that is the case, why should I spend more money to get him wins?

Later! I will donate twice as much as I planned.

Why is being in Main on Saturday a bad idea IF he can speak at one of the caucus's prior to the vote? Or it doesn't work like that?
I assumed him being there on Saturday means he gets to "speak" prior to the vote.... yes/no?

If his presence does nothing for getting out the vote, yeah - not sure what that deal is.

He could speak at a caucus. Anyone can speak in support of a candidate. There's nothing that precludes the speaker from being the candidate them self.

Lame excuse. The campaign could have set up a YouTube channel and had videos of the events up within several hours as long as they didn't do any fancy editing with multiple cameras. They could have also become a YT partner to get the revenue to help pay for the labor of those doing the filming and editing. They could even start now.
