Via POLITICO's Juana Summers, the Ron Paul vote is not going ignored by the Republican ticket:

During a campaign event in Lima, Ohio Monday, Paul Ryan made his pitch to voters who supported Ron Paul during the Republican presidential primary, saying if they don't want a second-term Obama presidency they should back the Republican presidential ticket, not vote for Paul or third-party candidates.

Ryan's comments came in response to a question from an attendee who asked Ryan why he and other libertarians should vote for Romney and Ryan, as opposed to "not say Libertarian or Vermin Supreme and the Pony Party?"

"Do you want Barack Obama to be re-elected? Then don't vote for Ron Paul," Ryan said, to cheers from attendees.

Ryan added that he considers Paul – who has not endorsed the GOP presidential ticke – a friend, and that there are "many things that Ron has championed that I am a big believer in, especially liberty and sound money."

"Look at where we are, and this is where we all see eye to eye," Ryan said. "We believe in limited government and economic freedom. We believe in pro-growth policies that say you keep your money in your family's budget, in your family's business instead of sending it to Washington in the first place. That creates prosperity, freedom and jobs."

Ryan also praised Paul's long crusade against the Federal Reserve.

"On an issue where Ron has been particularly explicit, the Federal Reserve is yet again trying to bail out the fact that Obama, President Obama has failed on fiscal policy," Ryan said. "All of this money printing, which is coming from the Federal Reserve, risks debasing our currency. It risks undermining the value of our dollar, it risks increasing prices on things like food and gas. And among the things that the government can do to harm its people, one of the worst things is to debase its currency. "

Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson has been the third-party candidate making the biggest push for the Ron Paul vote, and his presence on the ticket in some states, like in the mountain west (looking at you, Colorado) could shave off enough votes to help tip the scales.

will he stop no knocks, the war on americans, the war on the poor-and our ability to feed them, the prison surveillance state, global mercantilism eating us alive, raiding Amish/ permaculture/ raw milk/ food PRODUCERS, the guilty until (not) proven innocent mindset destroying this country???
will he take the yoke of tyranny over EVERY aspect of our lives and SMASH the very idea that man is flawed and putting another flawed man in charge of him logical?

well?

'cause RON PAUL does that.

We're really in a no-win election. So everyone here should be free to do what they want. I think I'm going to vote for Romney. The Rand method seems to be striking gold in terms of advancing the cause, and I'd rather have a war within the Republican party rather than just be an obstructionist. If Romney turns out to be as bad as many here predict, then we can primary him in 2016. As bad as Bush was, for example, he wasn't going to force Obamacare down the throat of the entire country like Obama did. But for everything else, Rand is still going to be outvoted 99-1 or 80-10 on our most pressing issues regardless who is in the Senate or White House.

No, after the way the Republicans treated Ron Paul and his supporters there is no way that I would even think about voting for them, I would sooner vote for Obama than them, and that isn't happening either. Ron Paul gets my vote and if he runs again in 2016 he will have it again.

your sign up date is indicative of your choice.
the matrix is calling you home.
only those who aren't far from the world of conformity can justify a vote for evil.

That's really sad that the best argument he can come up with to vote for him and Romney is that they're not Obama.

Whose mind is going to be changed by that line? He might as well say, "I'm not even going to try to win over your votes."

Romney invented Obamacare.

Romney and the establishment cheated DR. Paul and us every step of the way, rather than even pretend to embrace the ideals of those joining the party.

So for Ryan to try to play the "lesser of two evils" card now, sorry but it's way too little, way too late for that.

Voting for Romney doesn't make sense if you are on board with the Rand plan. It involves running in 2016 for POTUS in order to really advance the cause. There is no chance that Rand will primary Romney if he wins. When is the last time an incumbent faced a challenger in the primary?

You beat me to posting this by 13 min. ;)

Methinks they noticed the write in plans and are SERIOUSLY worried!

Did we actually get RP on the ballot in Ohio? Or is he just worried about write in votes?

Sounds like a planted question to allow Paul Ryan a chance to try to woo us without having to bring it up on his own. His answer sucks for the most part.

Btw, anyone talking about "primarying Romney in 2016" should pay attention to those new RNC rules. It'll never happen.

whoever talks about primary an incumbent president needs to have their head examined. especially with new rules in place.
Dictator Romney will hand pick all the delegates and remove all the ones that haven't signed fealty oaths and kissed his ring.

Romney campaign seems desperate now

He should be. The media may try to sell the story that its close, but no... he's going to lose by a wide margin.

Then again, I still don't think he really cares. There's a good chance that he was told up front by his puppet masters that he was going to lose this election.

I'm sure he'll get his profits either way. Win/win.
